I am a native speaker of English and fluent speaker of Dutch with ten years of work experience as a secondary school teacher and three as a translator/editor. In addition to a love for language and translation, my own education and subsequent work in education have ensured that I have an eye for detail and impeccable spelling and grammar. My main areas of interest and expertise are literature, travel & tourism, health and wellness, and culture & the arts. I am, however, versatile and eager to learn so projects linked to other fields are more than welcome.

Some of the projects I have done over the past few years are: translating a series of texts about paintings for a Belgian artist; proofreading and editing an academic article for publishing in a Swedish historical journal; translating newsletters about health food products; and editing online human interest articles.  I currently work as a translator for 'Stichting Gezondheid Nederland', a charity that aims to inform the public about how to lead a healthier way of life. I am also active as a freelance translator on Upwork, with a number of steady clients.
