My name is Carolina Sempere, and I am an experienced translator and linguist with native-level proficiency in both English (US) and Spanish (Spain, US, and LatAm). I am from Spain, with close ties, and have been living in the US for 40 years (Miami, Florida). I am also a native speaker of Valencian, and fluent in French. I have an M.A. in Comparative Literature and a B.A. in English. I also have a professional teaching certification for upper-level grades for both English and Spanish, as well as 7 years classroom teaching experience, and 4 years university teaching experience. I am no longer a teacher, and am solely dedicated to translation. I have extensive experience as a writer for lifestyle publications, and can submit writing samples if needed. I have experience translating novels, poetry collections, cookbooks, travel books, real estate, industrial, educational, children’s books, and construction materials. I am also the subtitle translator, linguist, and transcreation expert for a major US media outlet, HBO. I have professional experience in construction, real estate, architecture, art, music industry, and design. I am dedicated to providing the highest quality service to my clients, while focusing on timely delivery, active communication and collaboration with PMs and other translators, and impecable editing (if required). I use CafeTran TM software, and have experience with Memoq, SDL Trados, and proprietary TM platforms.
