Hello! I am a Flemish (Belgian) freelance translator with a scientific background. My latest project was a book translation, 'Lo que mueve el mundo', by National Price for Literature winner Kirmen Uribe. I am a translator for Amazon, and have translated MSc dissertations, sales contracts, medical documents, technical reports, etc., and subtitled videos for online scientific courses.
From 12 to 18 years of age I was enrolled in ‘Latin and Modern Languages’ at school in Belgium, with a high study load of French, English, German and Latin. I attained two Master degrees in Science (Geology and Physical Land Resources, 1999-2006, University of Ghent) taken in Dutch and English. When I was 21 I spent a year in Granada (Spain) as an exchange student and passed all exams taken in Spanish. Since 2006 I have been living abroad, i.e. in Italy (1 year), England (5 years) and Spain (since 2012). In total I have 12 years of experience in producing technical reports in English for exploration industry and for publication in scientific journals. During work in the UK I was also responsible for English/Spanish/French translations and interpreting. I have often translated during work and studies (sales contracts, technical reports, peer reviewed articles).
