I am a Brazilian linguist, however, I started my professional career as Food Engineer, with a Master in Food Science and a PostGrad Specialist degree on Management of Food Safety and Quality - all qualifications obtained in the University of Campinas (Unicamp), a top of the list university in Latin America.

From this strong scientific background, I got both my passion for the sciences of life and my technical knowledge that helps me immensely in technical translations.

After living in 5 different countries in the last 20 years, I can safely say that I learned not only the languages I speak fluently nowadays (Portuguese, English, Italian and Spanish), but also varied cultural aspects of these places: arts, culinary, habits, sayings, slangs & puns, plus the ability to appreciate a good wine, as a bonus.

1. Translator
The best literary translator of the DipTrans 2019, award conceded by the Chartered Institute of Linguists (CIoL), London/UK.
Last qualification: Diploma in Translation (DipTrans), Postgrad-level – Chartered Inst. of Linguists (CIoL), London, 2019.
Freelance translator, Editor and Proofreader (Portuguese):
2016 - now: English to Portuguese
2018 - now: Spanish and Italian to Portuguese

Able to translate around 1,500 - 2,000 words/day and proofread around 3,000 words/day (Portuguese).
Proficiency in using CAT tools (especially SDL Trados).
Experienced translating different contents and media formats, with specialization areas:
- Life Science (particularly the Food industry & Science, Agronomy and Nutrition fields);
- Social sciences (Human rights);
- Cultural (Literary texts, Religion, Folklore, Arts, Mindfulness contents);
- Tourism & Living abroad;
- Marketing & Copywriting.

2. Audiovisual contents:
Transcription and translation and edition of subtitles
Last qualification: Course in Subtitling – UCL, London, 2019.
2018 - now: Transcription (audio in Portuguese) and Subtitling.

Translation of Scripts for Dubbing: Brazilian Association for Dubbing, 2020.

The audiovisual translation is what I would consider one of my greatest passion! It brings along not only the challenge of the translation itself - especially on the comedy genre - but also the time coding limitation, the technical requirements, the perfect synchronization of the content to the scene!

3. Transcreation and creation of marketing content (Copywriting)
Last qualification: Brazilian Association of Copywriting, 2020.
If you want to sell your products to the Brazilian audience, then you should talk to your (future) clients in their mother tongue, in Portuguese.
Using the appropriate language for specific niches and effective mental triggers, the transcreation of your marketing content can convert your audience into clients.

4. Interpreter Portuguese/English in the United Kingdom only.
Last qualification: Diploma in Public Service Interpreting (DPSI), level  6 –  CIoL, London, 2018.
2005 - 2008 and 2018 - now:
Experient interpreter for in business meetings, interviews, events and exhibitions, working with both consecutive and simultaneous interpretation (whispered interpretation).

The most important of all, I love what I do!!
