Translation - French "Donner à quelqu'un de petites chaussures" signifie causer délibérément du tort à autrui derrière son dos ou lui rendre la vie difficile en abusant de son propre pouvoir. C'est aussi brimer un subordonné par vengeance personnelle ou avoir une attitude vindicative envers des collaborateurs. Autrefois, les "petites chaussures" désignaient des chaussures brodées pour des femmes dont les pieds étaient bandés, et non de petites chaussures pour enfants. Par la suite, cette coutume donna lieu à une expression familière ayant le sens expliqué plus haut.
