I am a professional with 5 years experience translating Portuguese, Spanish and French to English. I am a native English speaker from the United States and have experience working with these languages in both professional and academic settings. During my university studies, pursuing a BA degree in Spanish and a BA degree in French, I gained much experience translating French and Spanish academic articles, literature, scientific texts and essays to English. My academic training gave me excellent articulation skills in English and great facility in working between various languages. In 2007 and 2008 I lived in France and from 2010 to the present, I have lived predominantly in Portugal and Spain. These experiences living abroad greatly increased my fluency and capacity to translate with ease and accuracy, while ever increasing my knowledge of cultural references. Since moving to the Iberian Peninsula in 2010 I have worked as a freelance translator, translating academic articles, curricula vitae, project proposals, publicity, scientific and medical articles, literary articles and interviews. I have experience in a wide range of material: biology, textiles, architecture, literary theory, fiction, human resources, finance and business.
