Source text - Arabic اراد رجل فاحش الثراء ان يحسس ابنه بقيمة النعمة التى يستمتعون بها , و يريه كيف يعيش البدوْ الفقراء , فأخذه فى رحلة الى البادية , و قضوا اياماً و ليالٍ فى ضيافة اسرة فقيرة تعيش فى مزرعة صغيرة.
و فى طريق العودة سأل الاب ابنه : كيف كانت الرحلة ؟ فأجاب الابن : كانت ممتازة , و سأله الاب : هل رأيتَ كيف يعيش الفقراء ؟ أجابه الابن : نعم .
الاب : اذاً اخبرنى ماذا تعلمتَ من هذه الرحلة ؟
الابن : لقد رأيتُ اننا نملك كلباً واحداً و الفقراء يملكون اربعة .
- و نحن لدينا بركة ماء فى وسط حديقتنا , و هم لديهم جدول ليس له نهاية .
- و نحن قد جلبنا الفوانيس لتضىء حديقتنا , و هم لديهم نجوم تتلألأ فى السماء .
- باحة بيتنا تنتهى عند الحديقة الامامية , و لهم امتداد الافق .
-لدينا مساحة صغيرة نعيش عليها , و عندهم مساحات تتجاوز تلك الحقول .
-لدينا خدم يقومون على خدمتنا , وهم يقومون بخدمة بعضهم البعض .
- نحن نشترى طعامنا , و هم يأكلون مما يزرعون .
- نحن نملك جدراناً عالية لكى تحمينا , و هم يملكون اصدقاءً يحمونهم .
ثم ختم الابن بقوله : شكراً لك يا ابى لأنك اريتنى كم نحن فقراء
Translation - English An excessively wealthy man wanted his son to feel the value of luxury they enjoy and to show him how the poor bedouin live, so he took him along with him on a journey to the wilderness .
They went there and spent some days under entertainment of a poor family living in a small field .And they were on their way back , the father asked his son : How is the journey ? , the son replied : It's excellent .
Father ; Have you seen how the poor live ?
Son ; Yes .
Father ; So, tell me what you have learned from this journey ?
Son ; I saw that we have one dog and they have four .
- We have a pool in the midst of our garden, and they have an endless brook .
-We equipped our garden with lamps for lightening , and they have stars twinkling in the sky .
-Our courtyard ends at the front garden, and theirs extends to the skyline .
- We have valets serving us, and they serve each other .
- We purchase our food , and they feed themselves from what they cultivate .
-We have high walls to protect us, and they have friends to protect them.
Then the son concluded by saying : Thank you father, you have shown me how poor we are,,,,
