Source text - English As was said in the opening article in this series, the World Wide Web is, for all practical purposes, a single massively interconnected site. Although it is possible from the URL...just barely...to tell whether or not a particular Web page is part of a particular domain, what difference does it make? One link is just like any another, whether it transports the surfer to the other side of the world or just a different position in the same HTML page. Similarly, the actual location of any particular image is also irrelevant. The only thing that matters for a link or an image reference is that the server on which the target resides is up and running and that the referred URL still exists on that server.

Optimal perioperative care of infants and children requires proximate availability of qualified medical personnel and contemporary equipment designed specifically for this purpose. Local and regional circum-stances
may differ with respect to the immediate availability of specialized personnel and access to facilities. With due consideration of the practical necessities of safe, convenient
and facilitative medical care, the Task Force on Pediatric Anesthesia offers the following recommendations by which the medical staff of each patient-care facility may determine
explicit credentialing criteria within the bounds of applica-ble state regulations. They are intended to address the pro-vision
of elective anesthesia services for infants and childrenin all patient-care facilities. Anesthesia care required under emergency circumstances may preclude their explicit appli-cation
and use.
These recommendations are proposed in response to requests by anesthesiologists for assistance in establishing institutional standards and criteria that will enhance their
ability to provide anesthesia care to infants and children.
They are suggested based on the experience of the members of the task force and an earlier document addressing this subject (Hackel A, Badgwell JM, Binding RR, et al.
Guidelines for the pediatric perioperative anesthesia environ-ment.

Un prerequisito indispensabile per la gestione ottimale del periodo peri-operatorio di bambini e neonati è senz'altro la disponibilità immediata di personale medico qualificato e di attrezzature appositamente progettate. Tale disponibilità sarà ovviamente diversa a seconda delle circostanze locali e regionali.
Il Gruppo d'Esperti d'Anestesia Pediatrica, tenendo nella dovuta considerazione le necessità pratiche di un trattamento medico
sicuro, adeguato e facilmente praticabile, suggerisce le seguenti raccomandazioni in base alle quali il personale medico di ogni
struttura sanitaria può fissare dei precisi criteri di valutazione entro i limiti stabiliti dagli ordinamenti locali.
Tali raccomandazioni si riferiscono ai normali servizi d'anestesia per infanti e bambini eseguiti di routine in qualsiasi struttura sanitaria. L'applicazione specifica di tali raccomandazioni può
essere esclusa nei casi di trattamenti anestetici richiesti in
situazioni d'emergenza.
Queste raccomandazioni vengono presentate in risposta all'esigenza di standardizzazione manifestata dai medici anestesisti
