An Oxford graduate in Arabic and Islamic Studies, I have also completed a Masters in Translation at the School of Oriental and African Studies in London.

I have excellent training and extensive experience in translating a whole range of texts, both into and out of Arabic. I have recently worked closely with the author of a collection of wonderful short stories in Arabic, translating them into English for a UK audience. My training spans from journalistic writing through technical manuals to political and historical writing.

I have worked extensively as a proof-reader, meaning that my command of and accuracy in the English language are second to none. In particular, I have experience proof-reading financial and legal documents, meaning that I have an excellent command of the associated terminology. I am a native English speaker and have won several academic scholarships throughout my university career, including prizes for excellence in Arabic language exams, Syriac language exams, and religious papers.
