Source text - English INTRODUCTION
In the past few years, KM has been viewed as an increasingly important field of study that promotes
the creation, capture, sharing, and application of an organization’s knowledge. It has been argued
that the most vital resource of today’s enterprise is the collective knowledge residing in the minds of an organization’s employees, customers, and vendors. Learning how to manage organizational
knowledge therefore may produce many benefits, including leveraging core business competencies,
accelerating innovation and time-to-market, improving cycle times and decision-making, strengthening
organizational commitment, and building sustainable competitive advantage. There is little
doubt that the fundamental challenge of organizing and making available important knowledge has
probably been present in all types of organizations for thousands of years. Yet, this need became
particularly acute in the latter half of the twentieth century, as competitive pressures increasingly
pushed employees in large and geographically distributed organizations to specialize in cognitively
demanding tasks and to integrate their knowledge across location and specialty.
Much of the emphasis in KM has been on knowledge that has been validated and articulated in
some form, including knowledge about processes, procedures, intellectual property, documented
best practices, forecasts, lessons learned, and solutions to recurring problems. A greater challenge
rests in the development of ways to manage the expertise of employees that resides solely in their
minds, and to enhance the returns of such knowledge.
A wide range of scholars has made important contributions toward understanding the management
of knowledge and learning in organizations, and by now it is clear that managers see
information technologies as very relevant in solving some kinds of KM problems. The tremendous
technological advances that made it possible for organizations to manage large amounts of
raw data have culminated to a point where information technology (IT) solutions also have been
developed to accomplish a wide range of KM-related tasks. Early innovators capitalized on the
superior speed of transmission of IT to enhance knowledge sharing, as well as accelerating the
growth of knowledge. Later developments included technology to locate and map the distribution
of expertise in organizations, to guide users efficiently to find the solutions that uniquely meet
their needs from a repository of thousands of best practices, and to create virtual communities.
IT thus has provided a major impetus for the development of new approaches toward managing
knowledge in organizations. The promise of effective IT-based KMS was grand, and in the 1990s
many organizations experimented with the implementation of such systems, often prior to understanding
their implications for the firm.
Despite these developments, it seems clear that KM research is still in the early stages. KM
has facilitated the integration of knowledge from a variety of different perspectives. The works
of five philosophers—Leibniz, Locke, Kant, Hegel, and Singer—have significantly influenced
the development of KMS, as has the integration of organizational theory into the literature of
management information systems. Likewise, information systems researchers have made significant
contributions to KM that also extend into related disciplines, from psychology to artificial
intelligence. KM research has influenced our understanding of other relevant research streams,
including virtual teams, social networks, and organizational learning (OL).

طی چند سال گذشته، مدیریت دانش به چشم شاخه¬ای از دانش با اهمیت روزافزون نگریسته شده است که ایجاد، ضبط، اشتراک، و به¬کارگیری دانش سازمانی را بهبود می¬بخشد. گفته شده است که مهم¬ترین سرچشمة اقدامات امروزی، دانش جمعی¬ می¬باشد که در ذهن کارکنان، مشتریان و نمایندگان سازمان¬ها جای گرفته است. بنابراین، یادگیریِ چگونگیِ ادارة دانش سازمانی می¬تواند بسیار سود¬آور باشد؛ همچون تقویت توانش¬های کاری ِ درونی، افزایش نوآوری و بازاریابی نوین، بهبود مدت چرخه¬ ها و تصمیم¬گیری¬ها، تقویت تعهدات سازمانی ، و ایجاد برتری رقابتیِ پایدار. کمابیش تردیدی نیست که از هزاران سال پیش، همواره سازمان¬دهی و فراهم¬سازی دانش، چالشی بنیادین در همة انواع سازمان¬ها بوده است. با¬این¬حال، به ویژه در نیمة واپسین قرن بیستم _که فشارهای رقابتی بیش از پیش کارکنان را به سازمان¬های بزرگ و پراکنده در جاهای گوناگون وارد ساخته تا به ویژه¬کاری در کارهای نیازمند شناخت گماشته شده و دانش خود را در آن¬جا و در آن کارویژه¬ها بگنجانند_ نیاز به این چالش بیشتر شده است.
در مدیریت دانش، تأکید بیشتر بر دانشی بوده است که به گونه¬ای اثبات و سازواز گردیده است؛ مانند دانش دربارة فرآیند¬ها ، فراروند¬ها ، سرمایه¬های فکری ، عملکردهای بهینة مستند، پیش¬بینی¬ها، آموزه¬ها، و راه¬کارهای حل مسائلِ بازآیند. چالش بزرگ¬تری در جهت گسترش راه¬های کنترل مهارت¬¬های کارکنان _که تنها در ذهنشان جای دارد_ و افزایش بازدهی این دانش نهفته است.
دانشوران بسیاری به شناخت مدیریت دانش و یادگیری در سازمان¬ها پرداخته¬اند؛ و تا کنون آشکار شده است که مدیران، فن¬آوری¬های اطلاعاتی را در حل برخی از مسائل مدیریت دانش بسیار مهم می¬دانند. پیشرفت¬های شگرف فن¬آوری که ادارة حجم هنگفتی از داده¬های خام را برای سازمان¬ها ممکن ساخته، تا جایی اوج گرفته که راه¬کارهای فن¬آوری اطلاعات نیز در جهت پیمایش گسترة وسیعی از مسائل مرتبط با مدیریت دانش شکل گرفته است. نخستین نوآوران بر سرعت¬بخشی بیشترِ رانشِ فن¬آوری اطلاعات در جهت بهبود اشتراک دانش، و همچنین، شتاباندن رشد دانش تکیه داشتند. پیشرفت¬های بعدی عبارت بود از فن¬آوری جایگزینی و طرح توزیع مهارت¬ها در سازمان؛ هدایت کارآمد کاربران در جهت دریافت بهترین راه¬کار¬ها از میان هزاران راه حل؛ و ایجاد جوامع مجازی . بنابراین، فن¬آوری اطلاعات انگیزش بسیاری در پیدایش رویکردهای مدیریتیِ نوینِ دانش در سازمان¬ها ایجاد کرده است. سامانه¬های مدیریت دانشِ کارآمد بر پایة فن¬آوری اطلاعات خیلی خوب بوده، و در دهه¬ی 90 سازمان¬های بسیاری _پیش از درک پیامدهای سازمانی آن_ پیاده¬سازی چنین سامانه¬هایی را آزمودند.
علاوه بر این پیشرفت¬ها، ظاهراً آشکار است که پژوهش در زمینة مدیریت دانش هنوز گام¬های نخستینش را می¬پیماید. مدیریت دانش یکپارچه¬سازی دانش را از چشم¬انداز¬های گوناگون میسر ساخته است. همچون تلفیق نظریة سازمانی در پیشینة سامانه¬های اطلاعات مدیریت ، کوشش¬های پنج فیلسوف _لیبنیز ، لاکی ، کانت ، هگل ، و سینگر _ نیز تأثیر چشم¬گیری بر پیشرفت سامانه¬های مدیریت دانش داشته است. همین¬طور، پژوهشگران سامانه¬های اطلاعاتی نیز مشارکت چشم¬گیری در مدیریت دانش داشته¬اند که به دیگر شاخه¬های مرتبط نیز کشیده شده است، از روان¬شناسی گرفته تا هوش مصنوعی. پژوهش در زمینة مدیریت دانش، درک ما از دیگر رشته¬های پژوهشی مرتبط را تحت تأثیر قرار داده است؛ از جمله گروه¬های مجازی ، شبکه¬های اجتماعی ، و یادگیری سازمانی .

شخصیت کنفوسیوس، پیوسته با گذشت زمان، متعالی‌تر شده است. فرمانروایان چین در دوره‌های مختلف، همواره، به روان کنفوسیوس احترام کرده و رسماً او را بزرگ‌ترین حکیم می‌شناختند. قربانی کردن نزد آرامگاه او از زمان شاگردانش، معمول بود. از سال 1911 ادای احترام رسمی و دولتی به روح کنفوسیوس به تدریج، ترک شد. پس از انقلاب کمونیستی چین در سال 1949 مبارزه شدیدی با اندیشه‌های وی آغاز شد و کمونیست‌ها او را کسی معرفی کردند ؛که در مقابل توده‌های زحمتکش، از طبقه اشراف حمایت کرده است. مهمترین دلیل انتقاد کمونیست ها این بود که آنان آیین کنفوسیوس را یک ایدیولوژی فئودالی و دشمن سوسیالیسم می دانستند اما پس از گذشت 36 سال از شروع اصلاحات اقتصادی دنگ شیائوپینگ به عنوان انقلاب دوم چین،این کشور با تغییر در رویکرد خود نسبت به مکتب کنفوسیوس و اتخاذ سیاست خارجی عمل گرایانه ، توانست از یک اقتصاد بسته با چند صد میلیون فقیر به دومین اقتصاد بزرگ جهان و موتور رشد اقتصاد جهانی تبدیل شود. چین بعد از 1978 با پذیرش نظام موجود بین الملل، در حال ایفای نقش و حتی تغییر قواعد بازی برآمده است. چین با اتخاذ سیاست خارجی عمل گرایانه در اواخر دهه ی 1970 از یک سو، موجب تغییر نگرش خود به جهان و از سوی دیگر، موجب تغییر نگرش جهان به خود شد. در این راستا، ضمن تعامل با قدرت های بزرگ، به گسترش و تقویت روابط خود با کشورهای در حال توسعه اقدام نمود. درآمد سرانه ی این کشور در 1991 به چهار برابر شروع اصلاحات اقتصادی رسید . مبادلات تجاری چین با ایالات متحده در پایان دهه ی 1970 در حداقل بود، ولی امروزه مصرف کنندگان این کشور نمی توانند بدون کالاهای ساخت چین زندگی نمایند . پیش بینی ها از رشد اقتصادی چین حکایت از پشت سر گذاشتن اقتصاد ایالات متحده در 20 سال آینده دارد.
این کشور با مقدم دانستن اصلاحات اقتصادی بر اصلاحات سیاسی؛ و با توجه به نتیجه بخش بودن اصلاحات اقتصادی در جهت اصلاحات سیاسی نیز قدم برداشته است این کشور از سازگاری مکتب کنفوسیوس با آرمان های دموکراتیک برای اصلاح گذشته خود استفاده نموده و با دائر نمودن موسسات کنفوسیوس در سراسر جهان که تعداد آن به بیش از300 شعبه می رسد به دنبال تلاش نرم خود برای گسترش قدرت خود در جهان می باشد.
Translation - English Abstract
The character of Confucius has constantly transcended during the time. Chinese governors in different reigns have always respected the spirit of Confucius and canonized him as the paramount philosopher. Scarification by his tomb has been customary since the time of his disciples. Official and public reverence towards the spirit of Confucius has gradually abandoned since 1911. After China’s communist revolution in 1949, a severe campaign began against his ideas and communists claimed that he was an advocate of upper class versus labor party. The main reason why communists reproved Confucianism was that they regarded it a feudalistic ideology and thus against socialism. However, 36 years after Deng Xiaoping economic reforms began as China’s second revolution; having altered its approach towards Confucius ideology, and adopting pragmatic foreign policies, this country has been able to convert from a limited economy with hundreds of millions of poor into the world’s second economy and, thus, global economy’s growth motor. After 1978, having recognized the current international system, China has come up to act and even to alter the game norms. Adopting pragmatic foreign policies in late 1970s, China could change its attitude towards the world on one hand and change the world’s attitude towards itself on the other hand. With this regard, besides collaboration with superpowers, China developed and leveraged its relations with developing countries. China’s per capita income quadrupled in 1991 compared to the economic reforms onset. China had the least commercial trades with US in late 1970s; while US consumers can’t live without Chinese goods today. Predictions about China’s economic growth prefigure overhaul of US economy within 20 years.
Regarding economic reforms prior to political reforms, and considering economic reforms’ effectiveness; China has taken steps towards political reforms as well. This country took advantage of Confucius ideology’s coincidence with democratic goals to revise the past; and seeks to increase power in the world via establishing more than 300 Confucius institutions all around the world.
