Dutch to English: Calcio Storico General field: Art/Literary
Translation - English Calcio Storico, the name of this noble sport, is played on a sand covered square with short, yet strong walls (around 4ft high) surrounding the field similar to what you see in hockey, with no plastic barrier. 27 men in impressive renaissance-esque costumes play against 27 other men in equally impressive costumes - in another color, of course. The teams are given 50 minutes to get the ball over the wall at the other end of the field as often as possible, by whatever means necessary, therefore almost everything is permitted. There is indeed a referee, but he only calls a foul if a player kicks another player in the back. Otherwise he simply waves his Ostrich feather plume in the faces of angry players that appear to be losing it. Even without the rules it is expected that a bit self control is exercised by the players themselves

Bio
I am an experienced medical, legal and marketing/business translator with several years experience. I have lived for quite a few years in Belgium, so Flemmish is my source language but all of my intensive Dutch courses were in Dutch and not the Flemmish offshoot.
I have also lived in Brazil for several years, teaching and supervising several schools there. I managed the teacher training programs to keep all the teachers up to date on the latest material and help keep their English refreshed as well. I developed a new curriculum for the school which permitted me to view teaching and learning in a whole new aspect as I was able to interview students and perceive what was the best way of presenting the material in the most educaitonal manner possible.
I have also taught business English for many years across Europe, this allows me to view material subjectively and perform detailed analyses of content to ensure that the original meaning is kept as accurately as possible (helpful for marketing translations involving metaphors, slang, etc.)
I would be more than happy to discuss prices and negotiate rates as I know not every project is the same. I am flexible so long as everyone involved is reasonable and would glad to offer tips to help the translation along.
