Abstract
The ongoing episode of coronavirus disease 19 (COVID-19) has imposed a serious threat to global health and the world economy. The disease has rapidly acquired a pandemic status affecting almost all populated areas of the planet. The causative agent of COVID-19 is a novel coronavirus known as SARS-CoV-2. The virus has an approximate 30 kb single-stranded positive-sense RNA genome, which is 74.5% to 99% identical to that of SARS-CoV, CoV-pangolin, and the coronavirus the from horseshoe bat. According to available information, SARS-CoV-2 is inferred to be a recombinant virus that originated from bats and was transmitted to humans, possibly using the pangolin as the intermediate host. The interaction of the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein with the human ACE2 (angiotensin-converting enzyme 2) receptor, and its subsequent cleavage by serine protease and fusion, are the main events in the pathophysiology. The serine protease inhibitors, spike protein-based vaccines, or ACE2 blockers may have therapeutic potential in the near future. At present, no vaccine is available against COVID-19. The disease is being treated with antiviral, antimalarial, anti-inflammatory, herbal medicines, and active plasma antibodies. In this context, the present review article provides a cumulative account of the recent information regarding the viral characteristics, potential therapeutic targets, treatment options, and prospective research questions.

Zusammenfassung
Die andauernde Episode der Coronavirus-Krankheit 19 (COVID-19) stellt ein ernsthafte Gefahr für die globale Gesundheit und die Weltwirtschaft dar. Die Krankheit hat rasch ein epidemisches Ausmaß erreicht und betrifft nahezu alle besiedelten Gebiete des Planeten. Der Krankheitserreger von COVID-19 ist ein neuartiges Coronavirus bekannt als SARS-CoV-2. Das Virus besitzt ein Einzelstrang-RNA-Genom positiver Polarität von ungefähr 30 Kb Länge, das zu 74,5 % bis 99 % identisch ist mit dem von SARS-CoV, von CoV-Pangolin und dem des Coronavirus, das in Hufeisennasen vorkommt. Aus den verfügbaren Informationen kann gefolgert werden, dass es sich bei SARS-CoV-2 um ein rekombinantes Virus handelt, das ursprünglich von Fledermäusen stammt und auf den Menschen übergesprungen ist. Dabei hat möglicherweise das Pangolin als Zwischenwirt fungiert. Die Interaktion des Spike-Proteins von SARS-CoV-2 mit dem humanen ACE2- (Angiotensin konvertierendes Enzym 2-)Rezeptor, dessen nachfolgende Spaltung durch Serin-Protease und die Fusion sind die wichtigsten Ereignisse bezüglich der Pathophysiologie. Serin-Protease-Inhibitoren, Spike-Protein-basierende Vakzine oder ACE2-Blocker könnten in der Zukunft therapeutische Bedeutung erlangen. Stand heute sind keine Impfstoffe gegen COVID-19 verfügbar. Die Krankheit wird mit antiviralen, antimalarialen, antiinflammatorischen und pflanzlichen Arzneimitteln oder mit wirksamen Plasma-Antikörpern behandelt. In diesem Kontext bietet der vorliegende Übersichtsartikel eine Zusammenstellung der gegenwärtig erhältlichen Informationen zu den viralen Charakteristika, den therapeutischen Zielmolekülen, zu Behandlungsoptionen und künftigen Forschungsfragen an.

Fields of Activity and Background
On the strengths of my career background, I mainly deal with transcreations of marketing texts and translations of operating instructions in technical, medical and pharmaceutical areas. To give you some examples regarding the fields I cover: Hard- and Software in medical technology (e.g. medical scanners for dentists), industrial equipment and related computer technology (e.g. operating manuals for multi stage centrifugal blowers and exhaustors).
I also cover marketing materials and operating instructions related to consumer products like audio and HiFi products, watches, scanners and printers, and other kinds of consumer electronics.
Translations of medical studies and pharmaceutical books complete my portfolio.
My translations ‘sound’ naturally, but are precise and correct on the other hand. I am a native speaker of German and had been teaching English (TEFL certification) and German in Thailand for 5 years. As a former journalist (science, automotive, technique), and later publishing director of an IT publishing company, I have a strong background working in Western business environment on management level and I am familiar with the wording used by the target groups.
Translation and Transcreation: I guarantee speedy handling without sacrificing quality. Quality is and will always be the most essential part of my service. When translating technical documents for example it is indeed essential that all the terminology is translated correctly. This is the reason why I only work in fields I have accumulated proven expertise over the years. However, it is never good enough to translate literally, because the reader would recognize the result as a translation. I assure a translation which ‘sounds’ naturally but being precise and correct on the other hand. Professional translators are first and foremost transcreators, capable of producing texts that read well in the target language. I am your effective bridge between English and German, and I can render the message of the original.
My motto: Do it right in the first place. I use ApSIC Xbench and other tools to check all my CAT-tool projects for mismatches and inconsistencies prior to delivery. This safes you time and money.
Quality guaranteed*: I proofread my translations before delivering them, and I take responsibility for my work. If you find any critical errors – like improper use of provided translation memory, glossary, technical terms, style guide, mistranslated content, or grammar errors – I will offer you to repair revealed faults for free, adequate to requirements. If it is not possible to amend the improper work in due time you will either be refunded or not be charged for the faulty parts of my work, as the case maybe. *This guarantee reaches for my translations and jobs I have edited and/or proofread. However, I can no longer guarantee for translations after they have been altered by a third party without my knowledge, e.g. through editing, proofreading, reviewing, etc. after delivery. This guarantee does not include post-editing jobs of machine translations. Any shortcomings which might arise must be brought to my attention within ninety (90) days after my work has been delivered to you. Limitation of liability: In case of warrantable reclamations my liability is in all cases limited to the value of the respective order.
Confidentiality guaranteed: I guarantee confidentiality and non-disclosure for all confidential information, data, documents or files you provide. I do not use public MT to pre-translate content. Please do never send confidential material via unencrypted e-mail.
Security guaranteed: I use a state of the art firewall, virus scanner, and a secured back-up system.

Some service related definitions
Editing: Revision of the translated document to ensure that source and target language correspond. This does include light Proofreading. This offer might be adequate for e.g. technical manuals, technically demanding, and/or problematic translations. Writing style will only be changed in cases it is awkward or/and difficult to understand. Order of sentences will remain as in source document. Editing does include checks for consistency, number mismatches, etc. Editing can only be done in the bilingual (.itd, .sdlxliff, .ttx, .xlf) file.
Proofreading: Reading a text in the target language to ensure that its style and format (wording, grammar, spelling, punctuation, formatting, etc.) are appropriate. Writing style will be changed in cases it does not flow naturally, is somewhat uncommon or/and difficult to read. Structure and order of sentences will be changed, if necessary. This offer does not include Editing. Checks against source will be done in cases of unclear statements, only. There is no guarantee that all mistranslations will be spotted during proofreading process. This offer might be adequate for e.g. marketing material which is correctly translated but might sound a bit awkward (writing style) in the target language. Proofreading can be done in the monolingual target file (.doc(x), workable .pdf, .ppt, .xls(x), etc.).
Proof-editing: Editing and Proofreading combined. Sea above definitions.
Post-editing (PE): Editing of a machine translation (MT). Currently not on offer.
Spot Check: Random review, or review within a given time period, of a translated text in order to verify that instructions were followed, that translations of terms coincide, or any other specific aspect of the project.

Tests and data base registrations: As a self-employed translator I do not apply for jobs, I am just offering my collaboration. Please also note that I will not be able to disclose any of my previous or actual customer relations. I am generally not able to take on unpaid tests,register to “preferred-freelancer-databases”, fill in forms, etc. before the specific topic / field, your proposed contract, terms and conditions, NDA, invoicing procedures, use of CAT tools, workflow, etc. are on the table and accepted for my part. I do not take on general tests just to register as a nominal database member, but tests on the specific project / account of your offer only. If sending an unpaid test (300 words at max), you acknowledge my standard rates and proposed time allowed for payment. Your test must always reflect later project conditions (e.g. CAT tool file format(s), use of TM and/or TB, if applicable) and you would need to define the intended target group. You should always be able to return any test result within five (5) working days. Unpaid tests completed by me are not meant to be passed on to customers, clients, related companies, consultants, etc. You as the original recipient are not allowed to use my free test to win a job, project, an account, etc. without my prior permission. If granted, you agree to pay for the test as per standard rate per source word. Please also note that an unpaid test cannot become your property under any circumstances. Before sending any test, please inquire my availability.
T&C: Terms of payment exceeding 30 days after invoice submission date and check payments are generally not accepted. Minimum order value: USD 25.00. To finally accept and start your job I require a formal, printable PURCHASE ORDER (PO), e.g. as a PDF attachment, including your company’s and all agreed details. I am not able to confirm my availability for just potential jobs. I will only confirm orders. If you want to book capacity in advance on an hourly basis you need to send a firm order. Please label all confidential material as "confidential". Do not send unsolicited confidential material unencrypted via email.

Note to the valued outsourcer: To me, quality matters more than quantity. Punctuality refers to delivery dates, deadlines, and to payment dates as well. When inquiring, please provide the full picture: topic, target group, purpose, (sample of) English source file, total word count, reps and matches, required file format for translation, start date and time, expected delivery date and time, etc., just to keep the process efficient for both parties.
