It's really my face. They can't see it so they keep wondering Curiosity killed the cat. That's how I hunt the client
My forum comments and going to powwows | Nov 14, 2014 |
I voted for the 'about me' on my profile, as that is the part of the profile that works when people go that far. Generally getting myself noticed is what counts. I rarely look for clients, but they find me! Powwows are a very good way of making contacts.
What potential clients? | Nov 14, 2014 |
I've never had an enquiry via ProZ from what I would consider a potential client. I don't think it's me, as I get plenty of stupid enquiries from the peanuts brigade. I suspect that serious clients just don't come on here. If I started subcontracting work again, this is not where I would come either. And if I did, I wouldn't start with people's profiles. It's abundantly clear who is good and who is not from KudoZ answers.

No idea. I don't really remember what's in my profile. I just remember feeling limited by the specialisation thingy. Potential clients should take anything they read there with a pinch of salt.
I voterd: my contact info. | Nov 14, 2014 |
But to tell you the truth I have no idea, and I have never thought about it! I was puzzled about the mention of powwows; I mean, I like them but in what way do they help to get clients?

Just as our colleague Thayenga says, I also think it must be a combination of all the contents of my profile. Thayenga wrote: One would assume that it's a combination of everything. Have a great day, Nigel.

Can't imagine any other reason why I have so little response from potential mega clients via ProZ.
I don't know. Really, the offer I have received from agencies on Proz were sent because of my specializations
