Now the poll is over.
In total we have had 14 votes: 12 for 1-January-2006 and 2 for 8-January 2006.
Therefore the powwow will take place on 1-January-2006 at 14:00.
I'm waiting your suggestions for a place to meet in the center of Athens.
Kindly proceed until Thursday 30-March-2006 at 18:00, the latest.

I can't remember the names of any café in Thisseio/Plaka/Psirri etc, but I would maybe suggest meeting at Thisseio station and walk to one of the nearest places. I'm sure we can find somewhere to sit for coffee being approximately 15 people. Hopefully, it'll be a nice day and we can sit outside!

That's a bad idea, becasue if someone is late/no show, we'd be standing there waiting for them. Maybe someone remembers te name of a place around there that could accomodate us, and we'll just meet there.

This info is for people that they are coming outside in Athens and may be they are not familiar with the area they need to take the subway and disembark to Thission station:
When you go out of the station, you have to take the pedestrian street immediately to the right at the station's exit. This is the Apostolou Pavlou street; it is a wide brick-mattressed ("plinthostrotos") street with a park at your left hand at its beginning. You go up, walk about 3 minutes, then you will see at your right hand first a Café - Restaurant - Bar named "Lontos" and immediately after it is Akamantos street at your right hand. At the corner of Akamantos and Apostolou Pavlou streets is the Café - Restaurant- Bar where we will meet "Athinaion Politeia"; at your left hand is Acropolis, just for your reference.
Now coming back to info that are pertinent to all of us:
I have reserved some tables inside the Café - Restaurant- Bar as they do not make any reservations on the tables that they are in the pedestrian street (it seems strange; I don't know why); the manager told me that we can change place when we will gather if we don't want to sit inside. Anyhow, we will see and we will decide on the spot. I will be there from 13.30 in order to make sure that there are no problems with the reservation and for the colleagues that they may decide to come earlier. I just had some "surprise guests" from Denmark and I shall therefore not be able to leave for the weekend, unfortunately. I had been looking so much forward to this event, so even though guests are nice I would have preferred if they would have let me know before!
