Nicolas Gambardella . I am one of the few souls using GNU/Linux as my primary OS. Which means we do not have a large choice of professional-grade CAT tools. Cafetran Espresso is, in my opinion, the best. Its main appealing features are:
* A very intuitive GUI. Beginners can quickly translate, use Memories, Glossaries, etc.
* Incredibly feature-rich. Not only does the software come with a large toolkit, but it is also extendable easily.
* Very large file formats supported. Primary file formats, such as MS Office, ODF, AutoCAD, InDesign, HTML, etc. And also other CAT-tools formats, such as SDL Trados packages, all flavors of XLIFF, etc.
* Development is steady, with new features and bug-fixes released every few months.

Yunus Can ATLAR . I have always been reluctant to learn offline CAT Tools until I met CafeTran Espresso.
I am not an expert on the CAT tools but, in my humble opinion, it covers all the essentials you may need as a translator since actually it is developed by a translator.
Especially if you are a Mac user, look no further.
It can handle all those well known file formats with CafeTran Espresso.
I love it's user friendliness and regular updates that makes it better day by day.
Also, it is price is quite reasonable compared to its biggest competitors.

How easy is it to learn?

Drew Mentic . Overall the program is not bad BUT, and I have no idea HOW this happened, it deleted AN ENTIRE FOLDER from my computer.
I have limited space on my current laptop so I wanted to delete CafeTrans just to instal another program to see the differences.
It simply permanently deleted the entire folder in which I installed it. I have no idea how but this is absurd.
Be careful when using it.

Windows (un)installer uninstalls programs by removing the installation folder of the installed software.
