Getting a message in the browser stating: "The location in your profile does not match your current location!". When I click the Update your location link, I can see my (correct) address and a that Google can't do a thing on that page (not sure what that thing is, text is cut off) on my page. I assume it can't find my address.

Since this is my correct address I don't know what to do. Consider this a bug report.

So, I want to be constructive: Please give us some courses that actually help translators find work and manage their businesses in 2026, and add a feature to filter by age of materials, so we can know we're seeing the latest content and not something horrifically out of date when browsing the available courses.

Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts, Christopher! You raise important points. Indeed, there are still some older courses on the platform. We’re in the process of removing outdated content that is no longer needed, while keeping certain materials available because some users have purchased them and we can’t deprive them of access to what they paid for.

That said, our focus this year is shifting toward creating higher‑quality courses rather than relying mainly on workshops, so you should see more relevant and practical training options appearing soon (hopefully more sooner than later!).

And I really appreciate your suggestion about adding a filter by date; this is something we hadn’t considered, but it’s clearly necessary and we’ll look into implementing it.

We’ll continue posting updates about improvements to ProZ Learn, because feedback like yours is exactly what helps us refine the platform and make it more useful for everyone. So, in summary, thanks! :D

As much as I appreciate efforts to improve usability, I can't say I had a problem with the old platform. That said, if other people find the new revamp better, then that's obviously a good thing.

Nonetheless, what is letting down the e-learning section of the site is the content itself. If I load the Courses section, on the top row is a course named "Starting Out as a Freelance Translator". I've been translating for nearly a decade, but I'm always willing to check out a course like this in case it has some nugget of information that might come in handy. The course consists of three webinars from 2013. Do you really think a webinar from nearly 13 years ago is relevant for people starting out in the profession? Is it really that hard for Proz to update this course? Have they run out of ideas or willing participants?

Next on the list of courses if Claudia Brauer's "Survival jetpack", which is basically just a 2-hour webinar suggesting alternative professions because the translation industry is essentially dead.

Every other course I've looked at so far is woefully out of date and barely relevant in 2026.

I'm sorry, but in my opinion, this is not a serious effort to deliver training materials, which to be honest (given that I only ever receive e-mails from scam artists via this website), is the only reason I would consider continuing my subscription. I wish I could be more positive, but the new design for the training tools is meaningless unless the courses are actually useful.

So, I want to be constructive: Please give us some courses that actually help translators find work and manage their businesses in 2026, and add a feature to filter by age of materials, so we can know we're seeing the latest content and not something horrifically out of date when browsing the available courses.

Hi everybody!

New things arrived since the last time. Today, I want to share some things that are quite new or different in Learn and training at ProZ.com. 😀

💻The e‑learning platform now has a completely refreshed look, designed to be simpler, smoother, and more intuitive than ever.

The interface now has fewer glitches, and helps navigating your courses is now a much more seamless experience.

In the past, many users mentioned that accessing the platform felt inconvenient because it required too many steps. So now logging in and moving through the platform is faster and easier, with changes focused on usability to make the learning journey more enjoyable.

How to see these changes? Simply go to your learning dashboard and start any of your courses. The page will redirect you to the e‑learning platform where all these changes are.

Imagine you’re considering a new course. You scroll through the description, check the syllabus, and wonder: Will this really help me? That’s where the new review section comes in.

👥Now, every training page includes feedback from learners who have already taken the course. Their experiences, insights, and honest opinions become a guide—not only for you, but for the entire ProZ community.

Reviews make the learning journey more transparent, helping future participants make confident decisions about which training best fits their goals.

For current learners, sharing a review is more than just leaving a comment. It’s a way of shaping the platform, supporting peers, and contributing to a collective knowledge base. Your words can inspire someone to take the next step in their professional growth, or help them avoid a mismatch and choose a course that truly meets their needs.

Take LinkedIn as an example: the About section can be put on top of the page, and you're able to choose which elements you want to add to the profile page.
The idea of automatic CV creation is a horror to me, I'd suggest, no- advise, to drop this half-baked idea. As you should drop all those not properly working AI gimmicks like the language assessment. It's ridiculous to put it mildly.
Generally speaking, you should hide ALL not properly working/displaying parts of the site (so probabily almost all of them), as currently it's cutting a very poor figure and damaging ProZ's and OUR business.

I am totally flabbergasted that any development is not done in an isolated "sandbox" area that is inaccessible for the public. That is such a basic concept. You develop there, test it there, and when everything checks out, you move it to the live area.
This whole thing doesn't look like a UI design change, it seems ProZ (or this poor lone developer, or "Joe") is doing something from scratch, completely oblivious why all that info is in our profiles.
This is nothing Pro, it screams Amateur.

It's because this new format is not ready for use yet. As others have said, it shouldn't have been launched and made visible to potential clients if it wasn't ready. Not only are potential clients not getting the right/all of the information needed to decide whether they want to use our services, but there also seems to be privacy issues. Could this be one of the reasons we've all received less direct requests lately?

I know virtually nothing about website design.
What I do know is that the majority of the sites that I use and trust have been designed, built and tested "out of sight" and only rolled out when they are 100% reliable and robust. That is, not randomly tested on existing users on an amateurish and piecemeal basis.
Does my message make sense?

In an ideal world, the Proz IT team would have incorporated a banner like mine, configured as the default and customized with the URL of each user's/member's 'classic' profile page. And heck - they could even have gone the whole hog and made it clickable to take visitors immediately and hassle-free to the accurate and complete profile! Sigh...

The DIY banner I've managed to upload into my own profile is not copyrighted. Colleagues are free to grab a copy (right-click on the banner then download image on most popular browsers), edit it in any simple graphics editor to show their own 'classic' profile URL instead of mine and upload it to your own profile on the 'next' site. It will (errr... should) upload and display without any need to play with cropping, pan and zoom controls in the uploader.

Since colors like light green and black are not consistently used for the same type of content (let's say titles vs. copy etc.), the visual experience is confusing as you can't spot immediately what is body copy and what not.
I'd suggest to use always black for copy and other colors for parts like titles, and to avoid making elements look like buttons when they aren't.
To my liking, there are also quite too many (unnecessarily) single elements on the page and I'd want to be able to put the personal description on top of the page (currently, we can hide the standard description, which is a smart option IMO).

Hi! I’ve just made some updates. It no longer overflows, and if the image has the correct aspect ratio, it will recommend uploading the full image instead of cropping it (you’ll still have the option to crop it). I also added a message at the top of the edit drawer with guidelines for banner uploading. [/quote]

The only useful change is the inclusion of guidance about image size and AR.
BUT it still overflows after saving. And you have removed the 'delete' button you added earlier today. So I've had to upload an empty image again, just to keep your failings out of public view.

If you want any more help with this I'll have to charge Henry my normal IT freelance development rate.

You ARE exposing sensitive personal data in direct contravention of relevant paragraphs of the Proz.com 'Privacy Policy', the provisions of the GDPR and other relevant data protection and/or privacy legislation.

One particular data field that is being displayed in the 'visitor' view of the 'next' profile is an obligatory field in the profile editor, but it must not be exposed publicly if the user has selected the 'Show to no one' option.

If you choose to over-ride the user's decision to hide that field from public display, then it seems that our only remedy will be the deletion of ALL data in our profiles.

Is that what you want? Is that what Henry wants?

Hi! I’ve just made some updates. Anyway, has the serious bug below been fixed? Private data must stay private, that's why I requested to make my Next profile inaccessible to the public until the site is working securely and properly. In the EU and other countries, disclosing private information is a penal personal data breach. If the profiles are accessible for crawlers, they are making backups of them, including all issues, wrong information and personal data disclosed!

I was already thinking about it yesterday, but now it's enough. I've sent a support request asking ProZ to refrain from making my profile publicly accessible under the Next site version until it works properly and privacy is guaranteed. Aside from being misrepresented as a professional through these profiles, there is a very high risk of other private data being displayed. [/quote]

I’ve just messaged “Joe” (not his real name) to make sure there will be an option for the profile owner to make the CV public if they want. But the default value will always be “private” to help prevent CV theft and misuse.

FWIW, in my own websites image resizing is fully automatic, regardless of image aspect ratio and dimensions, and every image is guaranteed to fit the target box in the page. It ain't rocket science, it's simple arithmetic.

That’s great feedback! I’ve just added a “Remove image” button and made some improvements to the banner uploader. You can now make the image smaller, and you can also choose not to crop the image.

Your image uploader is still unusable. At the very least:
- It needs a button allowing the removal of any existing image.
- The default position of the zoom slider, corresponding to 100% needs to be half-way along the scale. As it is now, the image can only be made bigger, not smaller.

FWIW, in my own websites image resizing is fully automatic, regardless of image aspect ratio and dimensions, and every image is guaranteed to fit the target box in the page. It ain't rocket science, it's simple arithmetic.

That 'someone from the team' evidently has no idea about the essential differences between a 'profile' on a web platform and a CV. There is no way a well-crafted CV could be 'based on the profile information'.
