This chapter describes how to set up a user for the XXX application. It details how to enter the user’s personal information and how to specify user’s access rights. During the process of setting up the user, a set of folders (queues) to which the user will have access are set by default. Those folders (queues) are: User’s name, High priority, Work, Warnings, and Pending. If you want, you can give the user access to other folders besides the default ones.
NOTE: If you want to set conditions to a folder (queue). That is, the conditions (rules) which define which alerts are posted to which folder see Defining conditions to filter alerts to be posted to a folder in this guide. After this is done, the user is ready to process alerts. For details about this, see Processing Alerts in this guide.

Install Overview
Use the procedures in this chapter to install the XXX Workstation software.
The XXX system consists of two main components: XXX Server and XXX Console.
The XXX Server centralizes the distribution, storage, and reporting of the data. It receives the alerts, evaluates conditions (rules) online, and routes them to the proper folders (queues) for processing.
The XXX Console is used by the Risk Investigator. It displays the alerts and allows the investigator to manage the alerts. It also provides reporting capabilities which allows to monitor and supervise effectively all the processing of the alerts as well as users’ performance and activity.
After you install the XXX system, that is, the two components XXX Server and XXX Console, use this guide to help you with the XXX Server configuration and VVVV’s Activation request process.
IMPORTANT: You can download sample diagrams of typical configuration of the XXX system from our support site www.xxx.com/support. In the White Papers section see "XXX Server Logical Configuration Diagram" and "XXX Server Physical Configuration Diagram".
Hardware and software requirements
To install the components of the XXX system, you need the following equipment and software:
For the XXX Server
• Intel Pentium IV or compatible, 2.4 GHz, 120 GB hard drive, 1 GB RAM, 100Mb Ethernet card
• Windows 2003 Server with Microsoft Queue server component
• MSDE or SQL Server 2000 or higher if more than 100 alerts are received daily
• HASP connector (provided by XXX)
• Microsoft .NET framework
For the XXX Console
• Intel Pentium III or compatible, 500 MHz, 40 GB hard drive, 256Mb RAM, 100Mb Ethernet card.
• Windows 98 or higher except Windows Millenium Edition
• Microsoft .NET framework
• XXX Server
Installing XXX Server
To install the XXX Server:
1. Insert the XXX Server installation CD in your CD-ROM drive. The XXX Server Setup wizard starts.
IMPORTANT: Before you start the installation, make sure the HASP connector is connected to the server’s parallel port.
If the XXX Server Setup wizard does not start, click the Start button, click Run, and in the Open box, enter the location of the XXX Server installation CD. Type the drive letter, followed by a colon (:), a backslash (\), and the word setup, and then click OK. The XXX Server Setup wizard starts.
2. Click the Next button in the Welcome window.
3. Indicate the folder in which to install the XXX files.
• Click the Disk Cost button to see information about the hard drives to evaluate where you want to install the software.
• Click the Browse button to change the default folder.
• If this computer is used by more than one person, select Everyone, otherwise select Just me.
4. Click the Next button to start the installation process. The system prompts you for the database parameters:
• DB Server. Enter the Host name or the IP address where the database engine SQL Server or MSDE is running.
NOTE: By default the server name is the name of the computer where the installation is taking place.
• DB Name. Enter the Database name within the server mentioned above.
If you enter a new database, select New and, then enter the name of the database on the text box next to it.
NOTE: The database specified in the DB Name field will contain a set of tables with the minimum information necessary for the application to run.
If you enter an existing database, select Existing and, then click the Retrieve button. The system retrieves the name of all the databases within the DB Server entered in the previous field. Select a database name from the drop down list next to it.
5. Click the Test Server button to verify that the database engine is properly running on the selected computer. Once the verification is accomplished, a confirmation message is displayed. Click the OK button and, then the Next button becomes enable.
NOTE: The Next button becomes enable only if the verification is accomplished.
6. Click the Next button. The system prompts you for the XXX Server Port number which listens to the consoles that will be connected to the XXX Server.
NOTE: Take note of the XXX Server Port number. It will be required when installing the XXX Console software. See Installing XXX Console for details.
7. Click the Next button. The system prompts you for the IRM communication parameters:
• IRM Communication Host. Enter the host name or the IP address of the IRM component. The IRM is a VVVV system’s component used to receive statistical data about the processed alerts from each bank or XXX Server.
• IRM Communication Port. Enter the port number which listens to the XXX Server.
NOTE: The IRM communication host name and port number are provided by VVVV.
IMPORTANT: If you need to change the IRM parameters, refer to Configuring the XXX Server for details.
8. Click the Next button and the system prompts you for the business identification number (BID). That is, an identification number assigned by VVVV.
9. Click the Next button. The system prompts you for the Contact Information of two technical
persons that will communicate with VVVV to get the activation of the XXX system. For information about the activation process, see Request VVVV activation.
NOTE: All the data fields on this screen are mandatory.
10. Click the Next button. The system prompts you for the Operation Mode. There are three options:
• Real Time. If you receive the alerts via TCP/IP, enter the port number of the XXX server from which the alerts are received.
• Near Real Time (Network) If you receive the alerts via a file located on the network, specify the mount point (Shared resource) and path name (Path) where the file is located as well as the username (User), and password (Password) to access the file.
• Near Real Time (Local). If you receive the alerts via a file, enter the path name where the alert’s file is located.
NOTE: XXX Server will try to process any file located in the directory specified.
IMPORTANT: If you need to change the operation mode, refer to Configuring the XXX Server for details.
11. Click the Finish button to finish the installation process. A message confirming the successful completion of the installation process is displayed.
• An icon is created in the Desktop and a shortcut in the Programs menu, and
• The five services related to the XXX Server component are started.
The services are listed in Table 1 . The first column shows the name of each service as shown in the XXX Server Admin, the second column shows the name of the service as shown in the Computer Management window, and the third column describes the purpose of the service.

Instalando el XXX Server
Para instalar el XXX Server:
1. Inserte el CD de instalación del XXX Server en la unidad de CD-ROM. El asistente XXX Server Setup comienza.
IMPORTANTE: Antes de comenzar la instalación, asegúrese que el conector HASP esté conectado al puerto paralelo del servidor.

NOTA: Por omisión, el nombre del servidor es el nombre de la computadora donde se esta haciendo la instalación.
• Base de datos. Escriba el nombre de la base de datos en el servidor mencionado anteriormente.
Si usted desea utilizar una nueva base de datos, seleccione Nueva y, luego escriba el nombre de la base de datos en el cuadro de texto.
NOTA: La base de datos especificada en el campo BD Servidor tendrá un conjunto de tablas con la información mínima necesaria para ejecutar el aplicativo.
Si usted utiliza una base de datos existente, seleccione Existente y, luego haga clic en el botón Obtener. El sistema recupera el nombre de las bases de datos existentes del Servidor BD especificado en el campo anterior. Finalmente, seleccione una base de datos.
5. Haga clic en el botón Probar para verificar que el motor de la base de datos esta corriendo correctamente. Una vez que la verificación es terminada, aparece un mensaje de confirmación. Haga clic en el botón OK y, luego el sistema habilita el botón Siguiente.
NOTA: El botón Siguiente se habilita solo cuando la verificación es terminada.
6. Haga clic en el botón Siguiente. El sistema le pide el Puerto del XXX Server que escucha las consolas que estarán conectadas al XXX Server.
NOTA: Tome nota del Puerto del XXX Server. Será requerido durante el proceso de instalación de la XXX Console. Para mas información véase Instalando la XXX Console.
7. Haga clic en el botón Siguiente. El sistema le pide los parámetros IRM de comunicación:
• Host. Escriba el nombre del host o la dirección IP del componente IRM. El IRM es un componente del sistema de VVVV usado para recibir datos estadísticos acerca de alertas procesadas de cada banco o XXX Server.
• Puerto. Escriba el número de Puerto que escucha al XXX Server.
NOTA: El nombre del host y el puerto del componente IRM son proporcionados por VVVV.
IMPORTANTE: Si usted desea cambiar los parámetros IRM, refiérase a Configurando el XXX Server.
8. Haga clic en el botón Siguiente y el sistema le pide su número de identificación (BID). O sea, un número que identifica la institución, asignado por VVVV.
9. Haga clic en el botón Siguiente. El sistema le pide Información de Contacto de dos personas técnicas que se comunicarán con VVVV para conseguir la activación del sistema. Para mas información acerca del proceso de activación, véase Solicite Activación de VVVV.
NOTA: Todos los campos en esta pantalla son mandatarios.
10. Haga clic en el botón Siguiente. El sistema le pide el Modo de Operación. Hay tres opciones:
• Real Time. Si usted recibe alertas vía TCP/IP, escriba el número de puerto del XXX Server donde las alertas son recibidas.
• Near Real Time (Red) Si usted recibe las alertas a través de un archivo localizado en la red, especifique el punto de montaje (Recurso Compartido) y la ubicación (Ubicación) del archivo así como el nombre de usuario (Usuario), y la clave (Clave) para acceder al archivo.
• Near Real Time (Local). Si usted recibe alertas a través de un archivo, escriba la ubicación del archivo.
NOTA: El XXX Server tratará de procesar cualquier archivo localizado en el directorio especificado.
IMPORTANTE: Si usted necesita cambiar el modo de operación, refiérase a Configurando el XXX Server.
11. Haga clic en el botón Finalizar para completar el proceso de instalación. Aparece un mensaje confirmando la finalización del proceso de instalación.
• Un icono es creado en el Escritorio y un acceso en el menú Programas.
• Los cinco servicios relacionados al componente XXX Server son iniciados.
