Report on the consolidated financial statements
We have audited the accompanying consolidated financial statements of Model Company K.S.C. (Closed) (“the Parent Company”) and its subsidiaries (together referred to as “the Group”), which comprise the consolidated statement of financial position as at 31 December 2010, and the [consolidated income statement,] consolidated statement of comprehensive income, consolidated statement of changes in equity and consolidated statement of cash flows for the year then ended, and a summary of significant accounting policies and other explanatory notes.
Management’s responsibility for the consolidated financial statements
The Parent Company’s management is responsible for the preparation and fair presentation of these consolidated financial statements in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards. This responsibility includes: designing, implementing and maintaining internal control relevant to the preparation and fair presentation of consolidated financial statements that are free from material misstatement, whether due to fraud or error; selecting and applying appropriate accounting policies; and making accounting estimates that are reasonable in the circumstances. Our responsibility is to express an opinion on these consolidated financial statements based on our audit. We conducted our audit in accordance with International Standards on Auditing. Those standards require that we comply with ethical requirements and plan and perform the audit to obtain reasonable assurance whether the consolidated financial statements are free from material misstatement.
An audit involves performing procedures to obtain audit evidence about the amounts and disclosures in the consolidated financial statements. The procedures selected depend on the auditor's judgment, including the assessment of the risks of material misstatement of the consolidated financial statements, whether due to fraud or error. In making those risk assessments, the auditor considers internal control relevant to the entity’s preparation and fair presentation of the consolidated financial statements in order to design audit procedures that are appropriate in the circumstances, but not for the purpose of expressing an opinion on the effectiveness of the entity’s internal control. Take steps now to protect your family from the unseen danger of carbon monoxide. Install a carbon monoxide detector in your house, and plan to check its battery every time you check your smoke detector batteries.
Carbon monoxide is odorless and colorless. If it builds up in your home it can cause illness or even death—more than 500 Americans are killed by carbon monoxide poisoning every year. Any heater that burns fuel, such as your furnace, gas water heater, or a portable butane or gas heater, can leak carbon monoxide and should be inspected every year.
In addition to having a working carbon monoxide detector in your house, you should never burn anything in a stove or fireplace that isn’t vented properly, never heat your house with a gas oven, and never run a generator in an enclosed space (like your basement) or outside a window where the exhaust could blow indoors, even if the power goes out.
When you’re driving, don’t warm your car up in a closed garage. If your garage is attached to your house, close the door to the house even if you open the garage door while you warm up the car. And when it snows, be sure to clear any snow out of your car’s tailpipe—if the pipe is blocked exhaust can back up inside your car.

اتخذ خطوات الآن لحماية أسرتك من الخطر الخفي الذي يمثله غاز أول أكسيد الكربون. وقم بتركيب كشاف ضد غاز أول أكسيد الكربون في منزلك، ولتضع نصب عينيك أن تفحص بطاريته في كل مرة تقوم فيها بفحص بطاريات كشاف الدخان لديك.
غاز أول أكسيد الكربون غاز عديم الرائحة واللون. فإذا تجمع في منزلك فإنه قد يتسبب في تعرضك للمرض؛ بل وحتى الوفاة- يلقى أكثر من 500 مواطن أمريكي مصرعهم نتيجة التسمم بغاز أول أكسيد الكربون كل عام. ويمكن أن يحدث تسرب لغاز أول أكسيد الكربون من أي سخان يعمل بحرق الوقود، مثل الفرن، أو سخان المياه الذي يعمل بالغاز أو سخان المحمول الذي يعمل بغاز البيوتين أو الغاز وعلى هذا الأساس ينبغي أن يتم فحصه كل عام.
