Bio
I'm a seasoned language specialist with over 30 years of professional experience, fluent in Portuguese and Spanish. I'm an ATA-certified Portuguese to English translator and hold an MBA in International Business. As an independent language professional since 1994, clients have included the American Councils for International Education, the Brazilian American Cultural Institute, the FBI, the Global Environment Fund, the Inter-American Development Bank, the International Finance Corporation, the Mitre Corporation, the National Institutes of Health, National Public Radio, the Nature Conservancy, Patri Public Affairs, the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP), Unibanco, the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, the World Bank, the World Wildlife Fund and numerous law firms, translation agencies, and private individuals. One of the highlights of my career to date was when I spearheaded a translation project for the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) that consisted of engaging a team of nine translators to provide the monthly English version of the Foundation’s online magazine. My role was serving as project manager/client contact, translator and editor, with responsibility for final quality control over each issue. The well-oiled team produced a total of 61 issues in translation over a five-year period.
