Bio
I am a medical doctor (pediatric specialist) and freelance translator from South Korea. As a specialist, I have translated, edited and proofread a variety of medical documents including product informations, clinical study protocols, documents for validation or approvement from government regulating bodies, medical device manuals and medical articles. I have been working with largest translation companies as well as a number of pharmaceutical companies, laboratories, medical colleges and medical device manufacturers.

In medical translation, accuracy is more important than anything else. Not only could inaccurate translation cost enormous expenses from delay in approval process and miscommunications in operating devices or cooperative studies, but might cause danger to patient's health and even life.

However, I believe a superior translator could provide qualities beyond the simple accuracy. Those are natural expressions, style, readability and consistency. If you are looking for top-grade Korean translator in medical fields, I am so confident that I am the right person.

I also have experience in such fileds as music, fashion and pets. I have more than 7,000 cds and was a vocalist in a rock band, even if mostly listen to jazz and classical for now. I translated the pamphlet of premiere South Korean concert of UBS Verbier Festival Orchestra, the Korean edition of Crystalized! (biannual magazine of Swarovski) and Manual for Pet Owners from Royal Canin.

In the meanwhile, I started book translation and planning in 2007. So far, I have published 11 books of my own translating and another one I edited in South Korea. Personally I have special interest in psycology and mental illness and planned, translated and published world's bestseller books on this subjects like When Someone You Love Has a Mental Illness (Rebecca Woolis), Brain Lock: Free Yourself from Obsessive-Compulsive Behavior (Jeffrey M. Schwartz), Siblings Without Rivalry: How to Help Your Children Live Together So You Can Live Too (Adele Faber and Elaine Mazlish, planning and revision) and The No-Cry Sleep Solution: Gentle Ways to Help Your Baby Sleep Through the Night (Elizabeth Pantley).

In March 2008, I moved to Vancouver and started a new career as a full-time translator. As I have plenty of time to work, it is possible to translate 2,500 words per day on average. And in case you need refined and sophisticated style in other fields than medicine, do not hesitate to contact me as well.

Cheers!
