The creator of the iconic shark in formaldehyde, Hirst was a trail blazer for the Young British Artist movement and has gone on to be celebrated as one of Britain’s greatest conceptual artists. With the backing of advertising guru Charles Saatchi his reputation rocketed in the early 90s as he showed at the Venice Biennale, curated a show at the Serpentine Gallery in London and had his reputation cemented with the hugely popular Sensation Exhibition at the Royal Academy in London. Hirst has been criticised for not physically being involved in producing much of the art that he sells, rather seeing his role as coming up with the idea and leaving the execution to his team of assistants.

With his uncanny ability to persuade thousands of people to strip off and get naked, this American photographer is best known for this large-scale nude shoots at famous locations around the work. Starting off documenting nudes in public locations of his home town New York, one of his first "performances" was 28 naked people in front of the United Nations building. He has since gone on photograph in Barcelona, Amsterdam, at the Sydney Opera House and gathered a record-breaking 18,000 naked people to be shot in Mexico City’s main square.
