An amplitude response graph is often called a “frequency response” graph or sometimes a “magnitude response” graph. The goal of the Normalized Amplitude Response graph in X-over Pro is to display the relative sound pressure level(SPL) differences of each part of a crossover network and the drivers attached to it.
Since “relative” differences are desired, the graph is not concerned with the absolute loudness at a particular distance and direction or with a particular input power so it is “normalized” to zero dB. But X-over Pro cannot normalize each filter separately because it needs to show the relative difference in output level between each filter. So one filter is picked from each crossover network and it is normalized. The remaining filters are scaled the same way so that level differences between them are preserved. Two-way crossover networks are normalized to the low pass filter. Three-way crossover networks are normalized to the band-pas filter.
