I have an academic background and am interested in a wide range of topics. I have more than 25 years experience as an in-house translator, ten years at an international engineering company, the remainder at an international localisation company where the subject matter was client dependent. After finishing grammar school, I lived in Surrey, UK, for one year. While at university, I worked as a phonetic lexicographer on the new edition of the Van Dale English-Dutch dictionary. I have a lot of experience editing texts in Dutch and English.
I always try to expand my knowledge and skills by education, reading (Bill Bryson’s 'A short history of nearly everything' being my favourite to date), and hands-on experience. I believe full comprehension of the subject matter is essential to delivering top-grade work.

My standard agency rate is 0.11 EUR per word for translation, 0.04 EUR for editing. Rates are negotiable for large volumes.
