I am Slovak native speaker and I work as a translator for 11 years, 4 years as a part of a larger team, since 2008 as a freelancer.
My translator experience is rather varied: I have worked with texts containing court decisions, tender notices, medical and technical documentation, IT texts, website and game localizations and some general texts... but I am specializing in Medical instruments, at least half my workload consists of manuals in that field.
My working languages
English, French and Spanish. Besides, I can understand other Romance languages, like Italian and Portuguese. And as I have done a part of my university studies in Czech republic, the Czech language is very familiar to me, and so is Polish, as I have worked for 4 years in Krakow. In fact, I have done several translations from Slovak to Czech or Polish and vice versa.
My advantage is a capacity to understand the source text and its nuances very deeply - I am used to search for a perfect comprehension of the source phrase and the best equivalent possible, so my translation tends to be very accurate – and as I have a rich vocabulary, I have an ability to create a very smooth and readable text, especially if the target language is Slovak.
