I am a Registered Nurse and have worked in many realms of health care. My parents taught me Ukrainian from birth and I attended Ukrainian language school for twelve years in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I then took Russian as a minor in college ('94). In graduate school ('07), I conducted my nursing thesis with Ukrainian immigrants seniors as my study group. I spent two years working as a community health nurse within Ukrainian seniors living in communities in the Seattle area. I conducted a written survey and oral interviews in Ukrainian and was interested in finding out the seniors' perspectives on health and physical activity. I am interested in developing patient and public health education tools in Ukrainian and Russian.
