The award-winning XX strikes again

As in previous years, this winter, there’ll be no shortage of spectacular new treats for visitors to Austria’s number one ski resort. The season will open on 06 December 2012 with first rate events such as the inaugural FIS Snowboardcross World Cup.

Winter visitors will once again be treated to premium services and unforgettable alpine experiences, including the FIS Snowboardcross World Cup, which comes to XX from 06 to 08 December 2012. The first race in the series is guaranteed to be a thriller, with spectacular performances from the world’s top snowboardcross pros. The weekend also offers a first-rate supporting programme. This extraordinary start to the season won’t only highlight XX’s qualities as a top ski resort but also continue its tradition of hosting top-class sporting events.

All winter long, XX offers picturesque sunrise tours, beguiling culinary ski excursions and perfect deep-snow slopes for freeriders. But you don’t have to ski to enjoy unforgettable experiences here – why not try your hand at driving a snow groomer or take a romantic moonlit ride on a toboggan?

In XX, visitors can start their day early – and perfectly, with the chance to sweep down empty pistes before the lifts officially open. The early-birds really have to get their skis moving to cover the 36-kilometre stretch with an 8,000-metre drop in time for the alpine breakfast that awaits them at the XX restaurant below.

Fans of kickers and other such jumps will also be in their element this season as the XX is moving to a new site with innovative obstacles and challenges galore!

When asked how safe they felt in Alicante, six out of ten citizens responded “not very” or “not at all”. People aged over 50 (83.5%) often feel unsafe while young people aged under 30 generally feel safe. More than half of those surveyed regard the city centre as the most dangerous place. In view of this, 79% believe that installing security cameras could help prevent crime.

These are the results of the first XXX safety and security survey in Alicante, commissioned by XXX, Europe’s leading provider of security services. The aim of the survey is to determine how the people of Alicante perceive the levels of safety and security in their city and monitor how these perceptions change over time.

XXX Marketing Director XXX commented, “Understanding how people perceive safety and security levels helps us develop effective strategies. Even so, it’s important to remember that this is a perception-based survey. A determination of the extent to which these feelings actually reflect a real and/or growing problem is therefore necessary.”

When the people of Alicante were asked how safe they felt in different areas, 54% said they felt most insecure in the city centre. The figures are particularly notable among citizens aged over 50, only 14% of whom feel safe walking the streets of Alicante compared to over 50% of those aged between 18 and 40.

This perception varies substantially with regard to enclosed areas such as shopping and leisure centres or public and corporate buildings, where between 88% and 95% of those surveyed said they felt safe or very safe.

79% of Alicante’s citizens believe that installing security cameras in the streets would make them feel safer. Approximately 15% think that video surveillance could invade personal privacy whereas 40% believe this invasion would be worthwhile as safety and security should be the top priority. There is a significant sense of indifference among those aged under 30, 53% of whom do not mind whether or not they are monitored by video surveillance cameras.

XXX of XXX stated, “It’s natural for people to feel safer in places with security systems, such as shopping centres and public and private buildings. Electronic security solutions such as video surveillance play an important role but broader strategies are required if people are to feel safer in our ever-more complex society and world.
