Bio
Currently living in Seoul, South Korea with my girlfriend, who is a Korean adoptee on a 1-year exchange programme at the popular Yonsei University, I am working as a freelance writer, translator and language/culture consultant while finishing my BA thesis.

Altogether I have more than 15 years experience speaking, reading, and writing English, and since I began my academic career, I have perfected my ability to express myself in writing fluently and correctly.

Needless to say as a Danish citizen and an academic, my Danish language skill is perfect both in terms of expressing myself clearly and correctly orally as well as in writing. Swedish is quite similar to Danish and therefore easy to understand and translate into Danish, correctly. I learned Swedish from friends at university and from visiting the country. Finally, Swedish is mandatory in Danish public school.

As a BA student in Thai and Southeast Asian studies, I have 3 years experience speaking, reading, writing Thai language. During my time studying the language and translating from Thai to English and Danish, I have learned the essential fundamentals about translation, for instance how to translate indirectly (in Thai as well as in other languages, a literal translation is often impossible), while still preserving the original meaning, which is what makes translating a challeging endeavour.

Before I began studying Thai and SEA Studies, I studied medicine for 2 years. As a result I am familiar with medical terminology, including anatomy. Furthermore my knowledge about cell biology, biochemistry, and genetics is quite extensive.

Besides English I studied Biology on A level in High school. I have a fair knowledge about terminology related to human biology and ecology.

Besides my professional qualifications I have travelled extensively in Europe, Southeast Asia, and lived and worked for more than 6 months in Australia. I am a keen traveller and always on the look-out for new destinations to visit. Freelance translationg/editing/proofreading on ProZ gives me the opportunity to travel, while earning living...

Finally, as a person I am kind, friendly and relaxed. I am reliable, dedicated, hardworking and detail-orientated.
