Source text - English Abruptly my reassuring thoughts succumbed to sheer panic as the shadow of something big appeared behind me. I could hear the heavy breathing and fast paced walk coming closer! I could hear its long pointed ears and wet chops rattle as it shook its tremendous head. A chair nearly fell over, victim to the bludgeoning tail and I flew out onto a tree just in time, the adrenalin giving me new-found strength, speed and youth.
I climbed up the large tree, sinking my nails into the soft bark, feeling safer; what an enormous tree it was! The beast didn’t have sharp nails and couldn’t get me up there. It probably couldn’t even see me, ha! The beast in fact couldn’t find me and eventually gave up and they were calling him, but I was fast becoming aware of my new predicament. How was I to get …down?
Translation - French Brusquement ces pensées rassurantes ont disparu cédant à la panique provoquée par la présence derrière moi de quelque chose de gigantesque qui me suivait, je sentais sa respiration et j’entendais le bruit de sa queue s’agitant dans l’air, matraquant une chaise et arrivant pratiquement sur-moi qui pourtant courrais comme une folle. Depuis quelques années j’ai de la difficulté à sauter directement sur une table ou même une chaise – quant à courir ! cela ne m’était pas arrivé depuis des années ! Χωρίς αμφιβολία, ο μεγάλος νικητής είναι η ταινία The Hurt Locker, η οποία και χάρισε στη δημιουργό της, Κάθριν Μπίγκελοου, πρώην σύζυγο του Τζέιμς Κάμερον, τα βραβεία Σκηνοθεσίας και Καλύτερης Ταινίας. Επίσης, The Hurt Locker κέρδισε και τα βραβεία Πρωτότυπου Σεναρίου, Καλύτερου Μοντάζ, Καλύτερου Ήχου και Καλύτερων Ηχητικών Εφέ. Σύνολο το The Hurt Locker πήρε 6 Όσκαρ, σαρώνοντας τα πάντα στο πέρασμά του. Η κυρία Μπίγκελοου ήταν η πρώτη γυναίκα που κατάφερε να πάρει την ίδια χρονιά βραβείο Σκηνοθεσίας και Καλύτερης Ταινίας. Sans aucun doute le grand vainqueur a été The Hurt Locker (Démineurs) dont la créatrice, Kathryn Bigelow, (ex-épouse de James Cameron), a reçu l’Oscar du meilleur film et du meilleur réalisateur. De plus The Hurt Locker a également engrangé les Oscars du meilleur scenario original du meilleur montage, du meilleur mixage de son et du meilleur montage sonore. C'est-à-dire pas moins de six récompenses, écrasant tout sur son passage. Mme Bigelow a été la première femme à recevoir les Oscars du meilleur réalisateur et du meilleur film à la fois dans la même année. Peut-être est-ce du au sujet traité la guerre en Irak provoquant une réaction émotionnelle tant pour les Américains que pour le reste du monde.

C’est dans les réseaux sociaux et les forums que l’on voit souvent le greeklish entre les internautes grecs. Ils ne semblent par réaliser que, même sur un ordinateur public, il n’y a aucune raison technique de ne pas écrire en caractères grecs. Un simple Alt Shift (ou geste équivalent de la souris) est en général tout ce qui est nécessaire.
Ne dites pas que c'est une question de polices: les systèmes d'exploitation utilisent depuis au moins 15 ans des polices qui supportent presque toutes les langues.
Messagerie électronique: Il existe plusieurs normes de codage qui soutiennent pleinement le grec, donc il ne faut qu’une connaissance très élémentaire pour envoyer des courriels en caractères grecs vers n'importe quelle destination et avec n'importe quel client messagerie.

Social networking and forums (with only a few exceptions), are some of the environments where we often see Greeklish used between Greeks who, even when they are writing from a public computer, don’t seem to realize that there is no technical reason not to write in Greek characters. a simple Shift Alt (or equivalent mouse gesture) is usually all that’s needed. Don't say that it’s a matter of fonts: operating systems have had fonts which support nearly all languages for at least 15 years.
E-mail: There are several encoding standards which fully support Greek, so a very basic knowledge of how it’s done is all that’s necessary to send e-mail using Greek characters from and to any destination and with any mail client.
