Source text - German Lage: Die Dorfgemeinde Algund liegt beiderseits der Etsch – westlich von Meran; diese stellt in der Topograghie ein Unikat dar, zumal sie aus zwei voneinander völlig getrennten Gebietsteilen besteht. Der Hauptort mit den Ortsteilen Dorf, Mühlbach und Forst liegt am Talboden unterhalb der Töll. Die Fraktionen Mitterplars, Oberplars und Vellau am Talhang westlich und nördlich über dem Dorf und die Weiler Aschbach und Ried befinden sich einige Kilometer talaufwärts auf der Südseite der Etsch bzw. des Vinschgaus. Der Hauptort grenzt im Osten an die Stadtgemeinde Meran , im Süden an die Gemeinde Marling, im Westen an die Gemeinde Partschins und im Norden an die Gemeinde Tirol.
Bis 1808 dem Bistum Chur zugehörig, gelangte die Pfarre Algund 1217 durch eine Schenkung des Bischofs von Chur an den Bischof von Brixen, der sie mit allen damit verbundenen Rechten und Einkünften 1218 dem ehemaligen Kollegialstift zu Unserer Lieben Frau im Kreuzgang zu Brixen übertragen hat. Letzteres wurde 1808 aufgelöst.
Wie nur wenige Gemeinden des Landes vermag Algund ein höchst beeindruckender Weise Denkmäler seiner historischen und kunsthistorischen Entwicklung vorzuweisen. Dies beginnt mit den Menhiren von Mitterplars und mit dem „römischen Brückenkopf“, ein Quaderstein-Fundament der antik-römischen Etschbrücke der VIA CLAUDIA PADANA vom 46 n. Chr. in Algund-Steinach.
Figurenmenhire zeugen von frühzeitlicher Besiedlung Südtirols bereits in der Stein- und Bronzezeit. Einen wertvollen Fund stellt der Menhir von Algund dar. Seine Zeichnung ähnelt der Tätowierung der Eismumie „Ötzi“ (5300 Jahre) vom Hauslabjoch. Ob die Steine damals rtuellen Bräuchen dienten ist ungewiss. Für Geschichtsforscher bleibt die Algunder Bergregion ein weites Betätigungsfeld.
Translation - Italian Posizione: Il comune di Lagundo si trova su entrambi i lati dell’Adige, a ovest di Merano; da un punto di vista topografico, esso rappresenta un caso unico, soprattutto per il fatto che è costituito da due zone completamente separate l’una dall’altra. La parte principale, con le frazioni di Paese, Rio Molino e Foresta, si trova a fondovalle, sotto al Tel. Le frazioni di Plars di Mezzo, Plars di Sopra e Velloi sono situate sul pendio a ovest e a nord sopra a Paese e i nuclei abitati di Rio Lagundo e Ried si trovano alcuni chilometri a monte sul lato sud dell’Adige e della Val Venosta. Il quartiere principale confina a est con il comune di Merano, a sud con il comune di Marlengo, a ovest con il comune di Parcines e a nord con il comune di Tirolo.
La parrocchia di Lagundo ha fatto parte della diocesi di Coira fino al 1808. Nel 1217 venne donata dal vescovo di Coira al vescovo di Bressanone, il quale nel 1218 la passò, con tutte le persone e le entrate ad essa collegate, alla Collegiata di Nostra Signora nel chiostro di Bressanone; la Collegiata si sciolse nel 1808.
Lagundo, come pochi comuni della provincia, fornì lo sfondo artistico e artistico-storico per lo sviluppo di un tipo di monumenti molto impressionante. Si tratta dei menhir di Plars di Mezzo e della “testa di ponte romana”, le fondamenta in pietra squadrata dell’antico ponte romano sull’Adige di VIA CLAUDIA PADANA, a Lagundo-Steinach, risalente al 46 d.C..
I menhir figurativi sono la testimonianza di insediamenti arcaici in Alto Adige già nell’Età della Pietra e nell’Età del Bronzo. Il menhir di Lagundo rappresenta un reperto prezioso; il disegno assomiglia al tatuaggio della mummia “Ötzi” (5300 anni) del Hauslabjoch. Non si sa se le pietre all’epoca avessero delle funzioni rituali. Per gli storici la regione montuosa di Lagundo rimane un vasto campo d’attività.

Use speaker phone facilities in meeting rooms to group several number of participants per site. The audio conference organizer is charged per second and per caller connected.
Use the conference capability of your desk phone for small conferences. No conferencing fees apply. Many phone systems can conference several callers at the price of your phone calls.
When hosting international conference calls use the service which provides Local Access numbers. Both you and your participants avoid dialing an international call which reduces their call costs locally.
Please ensure you always use an up-to-date list of numbers. The numbers are selected based on business requirements and cost efficiency. Not using the correct set will generate unnecessary costs. The most up to date numbers will be added to your invitation if you use the Meeting Centre. Always dial into your conference from a landline phone. When traveling abroad you should strictly avoid dialing into a conference from your mobile phone. The mobile phone roaming costs are very high. Alternatively, you can use a calling card from a landline telephone.
