Le titre de ce livre me rappelle L’Art d’être grand-père de Victor Hugo. Dans un monde où les couples n’ont plus la solidité d’antan, les grands-parents sont devenus des repères importants, d’autant qu’ils accompagnent en général plus longtemps la vie
de leurs petits-enfants.
En commençant à écrire ce livre, j’ai pris conscience de la valeur symbolique que je pouvais lui donner : celle d’un testament spirituel.
Que voudrais-je raconter à mes petits-enfants de l’histoire de ce grand Univers qu’ils continueront à habiter après moi ? Comment les aider à transmettre à leur tour ces connaissances ?
J’ai choisi de m’adresser à des enfants d’un âge voisin de quatorze ans. Et aussi, bien sûr, à tous ceux qui veulent en savoir plus sur notre cosmos et sur son histoire.
Le livre est né de conversations avec l’une de mes petites-filles, certains soirs d’été. Notre dialogue se passe sous le ciel étoilé, que nous contemplons confortablement étendus sur des chaises longues. Tout au long de cette rédaction, je me suis senti revivre ces soirées de mois d’août avec mes enfants qui me bombardaient de questions pendant que nous attendions les étoiles filantes.
La contemplation de la voûte céleste et le sentiment de notre présence parmi les astres provoquent un désir partagé d’en savoir plus sur ce mystérieux cosmos que nous habitons.
Il sera ici question de science, ce qui n’exclut pas la poésie.

Al empezar a escribir este libro, tomé conciencia del valor simbólico que podía otorgarle: el de un testamento espiritual.
¿Qué quería contar a mis nietos acerca de la historia de este gran universo que ellos continuarán habitando después de mí? ¿Cómo ayudarles a transmitir, a su vez, ese conocimiento?
He optado por dirigirme a niños de, aproximadamente, catorce años. Asimismo, por supuesto, a todos aquellos que deseen saber más sobre nuestro cosmos y su historia.
Este libro surge de las conversaciones con una de mis nietas en las noches de verano. Dialogamos bajo el cielo estrellado, que contemplamos cómodamente estirados sobre unas tumbonas. Durante el proceso de redacción, reviví aquellos anocheceres de agosto con mis hijos, quienes me bombardeaban a preguntas mientras esperábamos a las estrellas fugaces.
La contemplación de la bóveda celeste y la sensación de encontrarnos entre los astros provocan el deseo compartido de saber más acerca de este cosmos misterioso que habitamos. Este libro tratará cuestiones de ciencia, sin por ello excluir la poesía.

WESTMINSTER
Westminster Abbey is such an important commemoration site for both the British royalty and the nation’s political and artistic idols, it’s difficult to overstress its symbolic value or imagine its equivalent anywhere else in the world. With the exception of Edward V and Edward VIII, every English sovereign has been crowned here since William the Conqueror in 1066, and most of the monarchs from Henry III (died 1272) to George II (died 1760) were also buried here.
The abbey is a magnificent sight. Though a mixture of architectural styles, it is considered the finest example of Early English Gothic (1180–1280). The original church was built in the 11th century by King (later St) Edward the Confessor, who is buried in the chapel behind the main altar. Henry III (r 1216–72) began work on the new building but didn’t complete it; the French Gothic nave was finished in 1388. Henry VII’s huge and magnificent chapel was added in 1519. Unlike St Paul’s, Westminster Abbey has never been a cathedral – it is what is called a ‘royal peculiar’ and is administered directly by the Crown.
Immediately past the barrier through the north door is what’s known as Statesmen’s Aisle, where politicians and eminent public figures are commemorated mostly by staggeringly large marble statues. The Whig and Tory prime ministers who dominated late Victorian politics, Gladstone (who is buried here) and Disraeli (who is not), have their monuments uncomfortably close to one another.
At the eastern end of the sanctuary, opposite the entrance to the Henry VII Chapel, is the rather ordinary-looking Coronation Chair, upon which almost every monarch since the late 13th century is said to have been crowned. Up the steps in front of you and to your left is the narrow Queen Elizabeth Chapel, where Elizabeth I and her half-sister ‘Bloody Mary’ share an elaborate tomb.
The Henry VII Chapel, in the easternmost part of the abbey, has spectacular circular vaulting on the ceiling. Behind the chapel’s altar is the elaborate sarcophagus of Henry VII and his queen, Elizabeth of York.
Beyond the chapel’s altar is the Royal Air Force (RAF) Chapel, with a stained-glass window commemorating the force’s finest hour, the Battle of Britain. Next to it, a plaque marks the spot where Oliver Cromwell’s body lay for two years until the Restoration, when it was disinterred, hanged and beheaded. The bodies believed to be those of the two child princes (allegedly) murdered in the Tower of London in 1483 are also buried here. The chapel’s southern aisle contains the tomb of Mary Queen of Scots, beheaded on the orders of her cousin Elizabeth and with the acquiescence of her son, the future James I.

La abadía es un punto de interés increíble. A pesar de su mezcla de estilos arquitectónicos, es considerado el ejemplo más hermoso de gótico inglés temprano (1180–1280). Los primeros ministros liberales y conservadores que dominaron las postrimerías de la política victoriana, Gladstone (enterrado aquí) y Disraeli (quien no lo está), tienen sus respectivos monumentos a corta distancia, muy a su pesar.
Al final del santuario, del lado este, frente a la entrada de la capilla de Enrique VII, se encuentra la Coronation Chair, silla de aspecto bastante corriente, donde se dice que han sido coronados casi todos los monarcas desde finales del s. XIII. Tras subir las escaleras al frente, girando luego a la izquierda, se encuentra la estrecha capilla de la Reina Isabel, donde Isabel I y su hermanastra María la Sanguinaria comparten una intrincada tumba.
La capilla de Enrique VII, en el lado más oriental de la abadía, cuenta con una espectacular bóveda circular. Tras el altar de la capilla se encuentra el elaborado sarcófago de Enrique VII y de su reina, Isabel de York.
Más allá del altar de la capilla se encuentra la capilla de la Royal Air Force (RAF), con un vitral conmemorativo de la hora más acertada de este ejército, la Batalla de Inglaterra. Al lado, una placa indica el lugar donde yació el cuerpo de Oliver Cromwell dos años hasta la Restauración, cuando fue desenterrado, colgado y decapitado. Los supuestos cuerpos de los dos príncipes infantes que se dice fueron asesinados en la Torre de Londres en 1483 también están enterrados aquí. La nave sur de la capilla alberga la tumba de María Estuardo, decapitada bajo las órdenes de su prima Isabel y con el consentimiento de su hijo, el futuro rey Jacobo I de Inglaterra.

Protagonitzada pels muppets de Barri Sèsam, “Monstres supersans” és un iniciativa de la Fundació SHE.
El canal Super3 continua amb la promoció dels hàbits saludables entre la població infantil, amb l’estrena de la sèrie “Monstres supersans”, l’onze de gener. “Monstres supersans” està protagonitzada pels coneguts muppets de Barri Sèsam i les seves històries transmeten tot un seguit d’hàbits saludables per prevenir malalties cardiovasculars. La sèrie, que consta de 26 capítols d’uns sis minuts, s’emetrà els caps de setmana a les 8.35 h, quatre capítols diaris, tant dissabte com diumenge.
El doctor Valentí Fuster, promotor i personatge de la sèrie
Davant l’augment de l’obesitat infantil i per prevenir les malalties cardiovasculars, que són la primera causa de mort al món, el doctor Valentí Fuster, president de la Fundació SHE, va posar en marxa el projecte de la sèrie “Monstres supersans”.
El doctor Fuster va fer ahir acte de cessió gratuita dels drets d'emissió de la sèrie pel canal Super3, al director de TV3 Eugeni Sallent. The famous Sesame Street Muppets are the central characters in Super-Healthy Monsters and their stories are used to teach children the importance of developing healthy habits to prevent cardiovascular disease. The series, which consists of 26 episodes of about 6 minutes each, will be broadcast at 8.35am at weekends, four episodes a day, on Saturdays and Sundays.
Doctor Valentí Fuster, promoter of and character in the series
Doctor Valentí Fuster, president of the SHE Foundation, set up the Super-Healthy Monsters series project to confront the increase in child obesity and to prevent cardiovascular disease, the main cause of death in the world.
Yesterday, Doctor Fuster took part in a ceremony with the director of TV3, Eugeni Sallent, to transfer the rights free of charge to broadcast the series on Channel Super3. Convinced of the fact that people’s behaviour is based on the learning and experience they gain as children between 3 and 6 years old, he uses as a basis for his fight ‘the development of healthy habits among very young children’. ‘To do this’, he added, ‘I have always fought for health to be part of their education. ‘Super-Healthy Monsters’ is a way of communicating this to society and is the result of my concern for the development of a culture of health’.

What is influenza?
Influenza, also called flu, is a contagious viral disease that causes high fever (sometimes as high as 39°C to 40°C), fatigue (feeling tired), headache, muscle and joint pain, and chills (feeling cold), and which lasts for several days.
Influenza affects people of all ages.

Què és la grip?
