I am a former Biomedical Scientist, currently working as a freelance translator in Valencia, Spain. In the course of my B.Sc. (Hons) and Masters in Biomedical Sciences, I studied biochemistry, haematology, blood group serology, DNA technology, microbiology, immunology, statistics, pharmacology, nutrition, physiology, histology, genetics and molecular biology.
I was employed in the Clinical Biochemistry departments of two large university teaching hospitals for more than 10 years and therefore am very familiar with a wide range of clinical conditions, laboratory tests and techniques, instruments and analysers.
From a linguistics point of view, I’ve also completed a Diploma in Spanish and a post-graduate course specialising in translation of medical texts.
