5.1 General description

La macchina viene principalmente usata per l’applicazione di vernici di fondo UV con quantitativi variabili da 10 a 180 g/m² in relazione alle regolazioni di velocità dei rulli dosatori e dei rulli applicatori.


5.2 verifiche prima della messa in marcia

Mettere in marcia il trasportatore alla velocità minima e verificare se il nastro si mantiene in strada e possiede la giusta tensione.

Agire sui potenziometri della velocità di rotazione dei rulli e controllare la effettiva variazione di velocità.

Provare il funzionamento del selettore di inversione della rotazione del rullo dosatore.

Mettere in moto la macchina e verificare se tutti gli organi di sicurezza (pulsante di emergenza, corda di emergenza, barra di sicurezza sul retro del rullo applicatore e bandella di protezione all’ingresso nella macchina) intervengono in modo corretto arrestando il funzionamento della macchina non appena toccati. Ogni volta verificare che la procedura di ripristino e rimessa in marcia sia rispettata.

Dopo aver portato le due racle in contatto leggero con i rulli applicatore e dosatore, effettuare una pulizia preliminare di tutto il percorso della lacca. Per questo introdurre una certa quantità di acetone nel serbatoio della lacca e mettere in funzione la pompa dopo aver aperto la valvola sul ramo di mandata ai rulli e aver chiuso la valvola sul ramo di ritorno nel serbatoio. Lasciare circolare l’acetone per circa 10 minuti e, se necessario, aprire la protezione e passare uno straccio sui rulli per completare la pulizia con le dovute cautele ed indossando guanti adatti.

! ATTENTION !
Quando si lava la macchina con acetone, la pressione del rullo dosatore sul rullo applicatore deve essere minima perchè l’attrito che si genera è molto elevato.

Completata la pulizia, rimuovere l’acetone dal serbatoio, chiudendo la valvola sul ramo di mandata ai rulli ed aprendo quella sul ramo di ritorno nel serbatoio.

Poiché il serbatoio è facilmente estraibile, si consiglia di usare due serbatoi: uno per la lacca ed uno per il solvente.

! ATTENTION !
L’infiammabilità dell’acetone impone di adottare tutte le precauzioni necessarie ad evitare incendi. Comunque prima di procedere assicurarsi della presenza in vicinanza dei previsti mezzi antincendio (estintori, ecc.).


5.3 Preparazione prima della messa in marcia

Le operazioni da eseguire prima di iniziare la produzione sono le seguenti:

1) a macchina ferma, versare il prodotto nel contenitore posto sotto la pompa di alimentazione.
Usando la pompa per la prima volta sgrassare il sistema con liquido pulente;

2) regolare l’altezza di lavoro controllando il movimento sullo strumento di lettura utilizzato per il sollevamento. Regolare lo spessore del primo gruppo di applicazione con misure inferiori di 1 mm rispetto allo spessore del pannello da lavorare;

3) regolare lo spessore del secondo gruppo di applicazione REVERSE con misura identica allo spessore del pannello da lavorare. Per regolare le diverse pressioni di lavoro dei gruppi è necessario operare sul volantino della trasmissione svitando la manopola di fissaggio e tirando il volantino verso l’esterno, in questa condizione azionando il dispositivo di salita a discesa dei gruppo si avrà il movimento del solo primo gruppo di applicazione.

Eseguita tale operazione riavvitare la manopola di fissaggio ed il movimento ritornerà simultaneo per i due gruppi di applicatori;

4) avvicinare il rullo dosatore al rullo applicatore del primo gruppo applicatore utilizzando l'apposito volantino creando una pressione sufficiente a ritenere il prodotto nel calamaio formatosi tra i due rulli: eseguire la stessa operazione sul secondo gruppo avvicinare il rullo dosatore al rullo applicatore con l'apposito volantino. L'ago posto al centro del volantino regolatore serve come valore di riferimento per fasi successive di regolazione. In pratica si consiglia girare il volantino di mezzo verso l'interno dopo che i rulli sono andati a contatto;

5) abbassare la lama del rullo dosatore e del rullo applicatore del primo gruppo e del secondo gruppo agendo sui volantini;

6) azionare la pompa pneumatica di alimentazione assicurandosi che la valvola a sfera inferiore sia chiusa;

7) regolare il flusso di vernice agendo sulla pressione dell'aria (il valore
suggerito è di 3 atm) e sull'apertura delle valvole di regolazione a sfera.
Attendere che la vernice riempia uniformemente il calamaio tra i rulli e
cominci a scaricare attraverso il canale di riciclo.


5.4 Accensione e regolazione dei rulli e delle velocità di lavoro

! NOTA !
Prima di azionare i rulli assicurarsi sempre che la vernice sia distribuita completamente su tutta la lunghezza dei rulli per impedire danni al rivestimento gommato del rullo applicatore ed ai componenti di trasmissione meccanica.

1) azionare il trasporto e regolare la velocità agendo sull'apposito volantino posto nella parte inferiore della macchina, controllare la velocità sullo strumento digitale. Generalmente questa velocità viene definita in relazione al ritmo di produzione, indicativamente viene fissata tra i 10 ed i 13 mt/min;

2) azionare il rullo applicatore gommato del primo gruppo di applicazione e regolare la velocità su di un valore uguale a quello del trasporto; controllare la velocità sullo strumento digitale azionando l’apposito selettore posto a lato dello stesso;

3) azionare il rullo dosatore in acciaio del primo gruppo di applicazione. La regolazione della velocità verrà definita in funzione della quantità di prodotto applicato e del grado di stesura dello stesso;

4) azionare il rullo applicatore gommato REVERSE del secondo gruppo di applicazione, controllare la velocità utilizzando lo strumento digitale posizionato sul quadro elettrico, il valore della velocità deve essere superiore almeno di 5 mt. rispetto alla velocità del trasporto;

5) azionare il rullo dosatore in acciaio del secondo gruppo di applicazione, anche in questo caso la velocità sarà regolata in funzione della quantità da applicare e dalla stesura del prodotto;

6) esercitare una lieve pressione sui volantini di abbassamento delle racle.

5.1 General description

This machine is mainly used to apply UV base varnishes in different amounts from 10 to 180 g/m² depending on the doctor roller and application roller speed adjustments.


5.2 Tests prior to start-up

Start up the conveyor at minimum speed and check if the belt is staying in line and has the proper tension.

Operate the potentiometers of the roller rotation speed and check the actual speed change.

Test operation of the doctor roller reversing selector.

Turn the machine on and check that all security devices (emergency button, emergency cord, security bar on the application roller back and protection strap at the machine’s entrance) are properly activating, tripping the machine as soon as they are touched. Each time check that the restoration and restarting procedure is followed.

After putting the two doctor blades slightly in touch with the application roller and the doctor roller, perform a preliminary cleaning of all the lacquer line. To do so, introduce a certain quantity of acetone into the lacquer reservoir and start the pump after opening the valve on the outlet leg to the rollers and after closing the valve on the return leg to the reservoir. Let the acetone circulate for approximately 10 minutes and, if necessary, open the protection, and carefully pass a rag on the rollers to complete cleaning, being careful to use appropriate gloves.

! ATTENTION !
When washing the machine with acetone, the doctor roller pressure on the application roller must be extremely low, because very high friction is generated.

When the cleaning is completed, remove the acetone from the reservoir, closing the valve on the outlet leg to the rollers and opening the valve on the return leg to the reservoir.

Since the reservoir can easily be extracted, the usage of two reservoirs is suggested: one for the lacquer and one for the solvent.

! ATTENTION !
Acetone inflammability makes it necessary to adopt all the required precautions to avoid fires. Anyway, before proceeding ensure that the provided fire emergency means (fire extinguishers, etc) are in the vicinity.


5.3 Preparation prior to start-up

The operations to be performed before starting a production run are the following:

1) When the machine is off, pour the product into the container located under the feed pump.
When using the pump for the first time, degrease the system with cleaning liquid;

2) adjust working height checking the movement on the reading instrument used for lifting. Adjust thickness of the first application group at 1 mm less than the thickness of the panel to be treated;

3) adjust thickness of the second REVERSE application group at the same thickness as the panel to be treated. To adjust the different working pressures of the groups, it is necessary to operate on the transmission handwheel by unscrewing the locking knob and pulling the handwheel towards the outside; in this condition, by turning on the group up and down device, only the first application group will move.

Once this operation has been completed, screw back the locking knob, and the two application groups will move simultaneously again;

4) put the doctor roller closer to the application roller of the first application group by using the proper handwheel, establishing enough pressure to maintain the product in the ink duct formed between the two rollers: perform the same operation on the second group; put the doctor roller closer to the application roller with the proper handwheel. The needle located in the centre of the adjusting handwheel works as reference for the following adjusting stages. Basically, we suggest to turn the middle handwheel towards the inside once the rollers have touched each other;

5) lower the blades of the first and second group doctor roller and application roller through the handwheels;

6) activate the pneumatic feed pump, making sure that the lower ball valve is closed;

7) adjust the varnish flow through the air pressure (the recommended value
is 3 atm) and by modulating the ball regulating valve.
Wait that the varnish evenly fills the ink duct between the rollers and starts to blowdown through the recycling channel.


5.4 Start-up and adjustment of rollers and working speeds.

! NOTE!
Prior to activating the rollers always make sure that the varnish is completely spread throughout the rollers, to prevent damage to the application roller rubber coating and to the mechanical transmission components.

1) Activate the conveyor and adjust speed through the proper handwheel located on the lower part of the machine, control speed through the digital instrument. Generally, this speed is determined depending on the output rhythm, it is established approximately between 10 and 13 mt/min;

2) Activate the rubber application roller of the first application group and adjust speed at the same value as the conveyor. Check speed through the digital instrument using the special selector located on the side;

3) Activate the steel doctor roller of the first application group. Speed will be adjusted according to the amount of product applied and its spreading degree;

4) Activate the REVERSE rubber application roller of the second application group, and check speed using the digital instrument located in the electric panel; its speed must be at least 5 mt. higher than the conveyor speed;

5) Activate the steel doctor roller of the second application group. Also in this case, speed will be adjusted according to the amount of product to be applied and the spreading of the product;

6) Lightly press the handwheels that lower the doctor blades.

1. Purpose
1.1. The purpose of this procedure is to establish standard guidelines, requirements, and procedures to monitor and analyze transformer oil.

2. Responsibility
2.1. It is the responsibility of the Maintenance Manager, or his delegate, to carry out this procedure.

2.2. Ensure that all safety precautions as outlined in the GE International, Inc., Global O & M Services EH & S Manual are followed as required.

2.3. To help keep cost down, accuracy up, and comparisons valid, each site should utilize a transformer oil analysis program vendor.

3. Equipment Applicability

3.1. This procedure is applicable to all oil filled transformers rated above 1,000 kVA which contain at least one winding rated greater than 4.16 kV. It may be applied at the Facility Manager’s discretion to any transformer based on the cost of replacement, difficulty in procuring a replacement or importance to uninterrupted power productionDuring normal working hours, access to the warehouse is limited to the Warehouseman and Facility Management.

4. Sampling Procedure Guidelines
4.1. Sampling Techniques

4.1.1. For meaningful interpretation of the oil sample, it is critical that an ideal sample be taken. Proper sampling techniques will ensure that a quality sample is obtained. In general, the key to a good sample is to ensure that no contamination is introduced to the oil during the sampling process.

4.1.2. In some cases the transformer oil analysis program vendor will draw the oil sample.

4.1.3. Alternately, the supplier of the sample kit may provide instructions. If the oil analysis vendor provides instructions with the sample kit, those instructions should be followed.

4.1.4. If instructions are not provided, the following procedure will help ensure that a quality sample is obtained.

Delle tecniche di campionatura adeguate assicureranno l'ottenimento di un campione di qualità. In generale, la chiave di una buona campionatura è assicurarsi che nessuna contaminazione sia introdotta nell’olio durante il processo di campionatura.

4.1.2. In alcuni casi il campione di olio sarà prelevato dal personale specializzato che fornisce il programma ed esegue l’analisi dell’olio dei trasformatori.

4.1.3. Alternativamente, le istruzioni potrebbero essere fornite dal fornitore del kit di campionatura. Nel caso in cui il personale incaricato dell’analisi dell’olio fornisca le istruzioni assieme al kit di campionatura, si dovranno tali istruzioni.
