Objective
To obtain an editing and translating position at a successful company, where I will be able to use my extensive linguistic and environmental science experiences. Editing, and translating content appeals to me because I enjoy detailed oriented work. I have previous experience translating botanical research articles and environmental surveys from Spanish to English as well as from Portuguese to English.

Spanish/Portuguese Academic Tutor, Bush Academy, Seattle, Wash., November, 2004-present. Tutoring high school students and college students in all levels of Spanish and Portuguese grammar, pronunciation, and literature.
Botainical Researcher, Museu Goeldi, Para, Brazil. 1999-2000. Worked in remote field station of Caxiwana, in identification, translation and collection of Bromelia.
Translator/Proofreader, Museu Goeldi Paraense, Belem, Para Brazil,1999-2002. Translated(Portuguese to English) and proofread scientific articles on a variety of botanical and forestry topics.
Project Botanist, Monte Alegre National Park, Northern Amazonas, Brazil, 2002. Project responsibilities included identification and classification of vegetation in the park. Helped develop a viable plan to incorporate the existing communities into an ecologic sustainability program within the park.
Assistant Botanist, Haleakala National Park, Maui, Hawaii, 2001-2002. Identification and propagated endemic plant species. Duties also included weed eradication, and seed and pollen collection.
Other Experience
Head Coach, Corvallis Masters Rowing Team, Corvallis, Oreg., 2003-2004. Responsibilities included organizing racing schedules and coaching forty to sixty masters rowers on a weekly basis.
Volunteer Assistant Coach, Oregon State University, 2003-2004. Worked with Head coach to supervise and plan land and water practices, as well as conditioning and technical training.
Wrangler/ Packing Guide, Wallowa, Oreg., 2001-2002. Worked as a hunting guide and horse packer in the Eagle Cap wilderness area. Responsibilities included managing food itinerary for 6-12 hunters for a 5-10 day trip, and organizing 8-10 pack animals.
Genetic/ Muscle Researcher, Smith College, 1999-2001. Muscular dystrophy research using genetically controlled subjects. Responsibilities included genetic breeding, muscle selection, and analysis. Additional duties included data entry and assisting with writing up research findings for publication.
