I have more than 20 years' experience translating in New Zealand, France and Australia and have my own business, Speedy Research & Consulting. I am an accomplished literary translator. I have published translations of a novel, short stories and poetry as well as academic articles on the translation of postcolonial literature. I am also an author of poetry and am currently writing a novel. I have specialist knowledge of New Caledonian French and other overseas varieties of French and I welcome all enquiries for French to English literary translation. I also have expertise in academic translation, especially in the humanities and social sciences. In addition, I translate official documents for immigration, education, business and medical purposes as well as advertising and marketing material such as brochures, websites, and social media.

I am a certified translator French to English and a full member of the NZSTI, AUSIT, the NZSA and PHANZA. As an academic in French and Francophone Studies, one of my specialist research and teaching areas has been in French translation (theory and practice) and I have prepared many students for NAATI exams. I taught French and French translation at Macquarie University, Sydney for 13 years and have also taught at the Sorbonne IV, the University of Auckland and Victoria University, Wellington. I have supervised and examined numerous theses (PhD, Masters, Honours) on translation topics. I currently have an honorary position as Associate Professor at the University of Adelaide.
