Looking for a job in Translation, Localisation, Subtitling and Content writing
Using Tools and Operating Systems:
Using
“OmegaT”, a translation memory Cat tool for translation and
localization consistency and “Subtitle Edit”, “Text Editor”, “Note Pad” for
movie subtitling. Well versed in MS Office and Libre Office in Window 10 and
Linux Mint/Ubuntu.
My
specialisation lies in translation between Urdu, Persian, Hindi and English,
philosophy of language and translation, translation theory and practice,
literary criticism, Women Studies, Persian
language and literature, translation of the textbooks of Social Sciences and
Humanities, localisation, and content writing.
Presently
working as Junior Resource Person in National Translation Mission
(NTM), Central Institute of Indian Languages (CIIL), Mysore. I am the
Assistant Editor of Translation
Today,
an international biannual peer-reviewed Journal of the institution. I
translate, review and assess the quality of Urdu translation of
textbooks recommended for higher education in Indian Universities.
Since 1998 I am associated
with many translation agencies based in Delhi. The outstanding work
as a long document which I translated with ModLingua was a health
magazine published from London titled "hubbub" related to
disabled personalities. Other than that I translated and localised
the HAGO games for mobile apps. I Translated, edited and reviewed the
various documents including localisation with Cosmic Global Ltd. I
have translated 100s of documents related to localisation of apps,
advertisements and web information. I have translated the entire web

Instead of enumerating the
works done by me, I would like to state and self-proclaim that I
hardly find a translator of my level who can compete with me particularly in translation from Urdu to English and vice versa.
Presently working in National
Translation Mission, a scheme of the Ministry of Human Resource
Development (MHRD), India, based in Mysore, Karnataka. I translate
textbooks of Social Sciences and Humanities which are recommended for
UG and PG courses in Indian universities.
I assess the quality of the
translation of Social Science and Humanities textbooks.
I am the Assistant Editor of
the biannual, indexed and peer-reviewed journal, Translation Today,
published by National Translation Mission, CIIL, Mysore. Furthermore,
I am a theoretician in Translation Studies. I am well-informed of the
discussions going on in Translation Studies globally. Whatever is
going on, they are mistaken fundamentally so far as the language and
translation are theoretically and practically concerned.
Presently I am writing a
research article titled “The
Philosophical Foundation of Language and Translation”
where I have questioned
the fundamental flaw of the philosophers and linguists about language
and translation problematising the Saussurean conception of language
which eventually became the reference point of their discussion on
translation.

- Translating “Outlines of Linguistic Analysis”
by Bernard Bloch and George L. Trager, published by Linguistic Society of
America, a textbook of Linguistics recommended in Indian universities.
