Dear employers!
I am offering you my translation skills as a person with broad vision, diverse background experience and an extensive knowledge of the said job itself.
My past working challenges include:
~ Simultaneous interpreting of conversations with a native English speaker.
~ Multiple occasions of translating legal documents, literary and informative articles, medical articles and documents, official correspondence, websites content, letters and messages written in casual style.
~ Living in different countries as part of an academic experience during my student years and therefore being in a position of immersing myself in a foreign language and culture (English, French)
~ Handling consultation and personal language support with foreign clients of the company I am working at (International kindergarten in Kyiv, Ukraine)
~ Conducting English lessons in a form of game with preschool-aged children and working as an English-speaking kindergarten caretaker (creating foreign language ambience in children's surroundings)
Not to mention that travelling is one of the biggest passions in my life (and notably, one of the reasons why familiar and remote type of work suits me best) and throughout my frequent encounters abroad I maintain my capability to speak English fluently. I also constantly expand my vocabulary by reading books, both fiction and non-fiction, in English.
All my translation jobs include as follows:
- the translation itself: qualitative, “human” with due regard for terminology of the corresponding field of activity
- Formatting the text of the target translation in compliance with the original document
- proofreading for various errors and typos
- The translator's attachment to work (explanatory note), specifying which terms were chosen for translation or what semantic adjustments were made for the sake of context
- An additional review of the completed translation on request of the client in case of detection of errors or contradictory issues in the translation.
Among my personal qualities that may be proving themselves useful in the course of work I can single out such traits of my personality:
• Easily adapt to new circumstances
• Communicative
• Responsible and punctual in work
• Fast learner
I am always willing to do a small test sample of translation for you to prove my qualifications. I would be grateful if you consider my candidacy.
Regards, Anna
P.S. It appears to me that it makes more sense to charge per word in translation rather than per hour.
My rates are:
$0.03 per word ($30 per 1000 words) English/French to Russian/Ukrainian translation
$0.04 per word ($40 per 1000 words) Russian/Ukrainian to English translation
