I am a native Romanian speaker and I have been working as a Romanian - English - Romanian translator for 15 years.
My translation expertise involves subject areas such as legal, economic,
technical, marketing, medical, HR, general etc.

I started with the legal field working
as a translator and secretary in a boutique law firm. Afterwards I was
headhunted for one of the Big Four, hence gaining the opportunity to translate
works involving economic, accounting, tax, sales, payroll terms, working with
templates for financial statements, auditor opinions, various reports and
translating and proofreading guidelines to International Financial Reporting
Standards (IFRS) and International Accounting Standards (IAS) etc..
Subsequently I started collaborations under freelancing regime and I translated
a great amount of technical documents (instruction manuals, technical sheets),
then in areas such as economics, law, marketing, medical (in particular
instructions for various medical devices or certain medicinal products). In
2017 I started working in a well-known Romanian law firm. Here I dealt with statements
of defense, court decisions and other court related documents, different types
of contracts, powers of attorney, writs of summons etc.

I also worked as a full-time proofreader
for both Romanian and English. My work in this position involved, among others,
the preparation and timely consolidation of company specific business templates,
assessment of work materials for grammatical errors and style consistency, ensuring
that the documents contain the correct headings and page numbering and checking
that the chapter titles and page numbers match the information provided in the
table of contents. I would also format the text on a word processor, checking
for spelling, punctuation, grammatical and typographical errors, ensuring
consistency throughout the document text, particularly in relation to the use
of capitalization, hyphenation and spelling; also check for consistencies in
relation to the design, making sure that the correct captions have been
included with any illustrations of photos and specifying the details considered
necessary for the correct performance of a work, including text amendments,
omission/addition of different design elements, chromatic etc.
