Source text - English The first meeting of the Commission shall take place no later than 12 months following the entry into force of this Convention. Source text - English The Australian citizenship test is designed to assess whether you have an adequate knowledge of Australia, its democratic system, beliefs and values, and the responsibilities and privileges of citizenship. The citizenship test is a computer-based, multiple choice test in English. It consists of 20 randomly selected questions; and as of 15 November 2020, it will also include five questions on Australian values. To pass the test, you must answer all five of the values questions correctly, with a mark of at least 75 per cent overall. Citizenship tests are conducted in Department of Home Affairs’ offices around Australia. Tests are also scheduled in a number of locations throughout regional Australia and in some overseas missions.

Hi everyone,
My name is Chuhan Zhu. I am a native Chinese (Mandarin) speaker who has received professional trainings from a NAATI-accredited course in Translating and Interpreting. I am also a member of the Australian Institute of Interpreters & Translators (AUSIT).
I grew up in China where my family are living. I'm currently residing in Australia with my partner's family. I decided to become a translator and interpreter in 2020, after which I joined the Graduate Diploma program in Translating and Interpreting at RMIT University in Australia. I'm one of the top students in the program with a 3.75/4 GPA, and I'm expected to graduate in June 2021.
While Chinese is my mother tongue, I achieved an overall band score 7.5 at IELTS exams in 2016 (L 7.5, R 8.0, W 8.0, S 7.0). Now I use Chinese (Mandarin) and English every day in my life. More importantly, I consider myself as multicultural, which is an essential quality for a reliable translator and interpreter. Because translating/interpreting is not only about transferring words; it is more about transferring culture and ideas.
With my professional skill set, I am able to translate a wide variety of texts including business website, brochure, video subtitles, game content, social media content, legal document, etc.
I am also able to use CAT tools such as memoQ, SDL Trados and Wordfast. Wisely using cutting-edge technologies increases my productivity and improves the quality of my work.
Additionally, I can also help you with graphic design, subtitling and video editing. I am proficiently in using Aegisub, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premierer Pro/Photoshop/InDesign/Lightroom, as well as Microsoft Word/Excel/Powerpoint.
I'm highly aware that it is critical for translation to stick to the original meaning and function of the source text. To ensure a high standard of work, I dedicate a sufficient amount of research in the relevant field to ensure the translation accuracy, and details are closely examined before a satisfying end product is presented.
