Source text - English Lois spent the evening with Ned, and true to his word, he rowed Lois to the waiting arms of Otto the next morning. Later that day, Lois seemed upset. When Otto asked what was troubling her, Lois answered, “Oh Otto, I have a confession to make. In order for me to be here today, I had to agree to spend the evening with Ned last night. Otherwise, he would not have rowed me to your waiting arms this morning”. Feeling terribly deceived, Otto told Lois that we was disappointed in her and wanted to be by himself, and stormed off into the forest. Lois, somewhat surprised and angry, began walking along the beach. On her way she ran into Peter and when she had told Peter the entire story, Peter responded to Lois’ predicament by saying, “Lois, I’ve always loved you and I just never got around to telling you. I’ll be glad to take you off Otto’s hands.
Translation - Indonesian Akhirnya Lois menghabiskan malam itu bersama Ned. Keesokan harinya, sesuai janji, Ned mengantarkan Lois ke pulau tempat Otto menanti. Beberapa saat setelah sampai di sana, Lois justru tampak resah. Saat Otto bertanya apa yang mengusiknya, Lois menjawab, “Oh, Otto, aku harus jujur kepadamu. Agar bisa sampai di sini hari ini, aku terpaksa memenuhi permintaan Ned untuk tidur dengannya malam tadi. Kalau tidak, dia tidak mau menyeberangkanku ke pelukanmu pagi ini.” Merasa dikelabui, Otto bilang bahwa Lois telah membuatnya kecewa dan dia ingin menyendiri. Otto pun lari ke hutan dengan pikiran kacau. Lois kaget dan marah melihat reaksi Otto. Lalu dia berjalan seorang diri menyusuri pantai. Di tengah jalan, dia bertemu Peter dan menceritakan semuanya. Mendengar curahan hati Lois, Peter justru berkata, “Lois, sebenarnya aku sudah lama mencintaimu tapi aku tak pernah bisa mengungkapkannya. Marilah denganku saja."
