I took my first translating job 20 years ago in the UK, after I had graduated from QMW of University of London (MA in Sociolinguistics). Since then, I have been a freelance translator in English, Greek and Spanish. My early work involved scientific, technological and medical material but later on I changed fields to what interests me more, Social Sciences and Humanities, Travel and Tourism and documentary subtitling. Right before the pandemic, I enrolled to meta/φραση School of Translation in Athens and I completed a one year course in Translation, specialising in Humanities and Greek to English translation. I completed my course with distinction and now I feel much more competent, confident and prepared. Apart from my translating part-time work, I am also a foreign language Tutor preparing students for the Cambridge and D.E.L.E exams. I am married and have a 7 year old daugher. I have also attended a subtitling course at meta/φραση School of Translation.
