HDMS Iver Huitfeldt, 30. april 2013
Off Hobyo, Somalia
hidkaldt over prajeanlægget.
i området, sagde efterretningerne.
Klanstridigheder.
tid siden. Men der skete ikke noget. Der var ikke sket noget
i timevis.
land. Ledelsen var bange for, at en anden klan eller piratgruppe
ville forsøge at kidnappe gidslerne.

HDMS IverHuitfeldt, 30 April 2013
Off Hobyo, Somalia
“Can you fly into the country and retrieve them?” the chief yelled through the operations room.
He looked at MER, the helicopter pilot who had been summoned over the intercom.
“Yes,” MER answered promptly.
I stood next to him and felt the cold sweat all over my body.
What did he say?
We’re not going in over land, are we?
The thoughts were racing through my head.
I had been present in the operations room for some time following the development of the situation, and it did not look that good. There were disturbances in the area, intelligence showed.
Clan disputes.
The money had long been dropped and counted, and the six hostages should be on their way to the beach according to the arrangement. But nothing had happened. Nothing had happened for hours. And now, rumours had it that there was trouble on land. Management feared that some other clan or group of pirates would try to kidnap the hostages, or that they would get caught in crossfire.
“Can you fly into the country and retrieve them?”
MER was cocksure.
Time was running out. The hostages would not be able to be handed over at the beach and time agreed upon.
The darkness was on its way.

Experience
Years of experience: 8. Registered at ProZ.com: Aug 2019.
With over three years of experience translating between Danish and English, a bachelor's degree in English and a Master's degree in cultural sociology, I have a lot to offer as both a translator and proofreader. My interests are many - thus also my areas of expertise. My preferred areas of translating, however, are tourism, culture, music, architecture, art, military, nature and wildlife. I may add that my interest in military lingo has been growing for some years now, and earlier this year, I translated the Danish book 'Piratjæger' (English title: Confessions of a Pirate Hunter - From Denmark's Invisisble Elite Forces) which you can buy on Amazon.com. My interest in nature and wildlife comes from living on an island in Denmark that is UNESCO World Heritage, and one of the projects I have worked on in that regard is a big exhibit about the Waddensea on the ferry that takes you to the island.
I also have a recording studio, if you need any kind of music (soundscapes, unique background music, gaming music, voicing, dubbing etc.) Feel free to contact me.
