Background
I am talented wordsmith. I am a native Dutch speaker who moved to Canada as a young adult. I perfected my writing, editing and translating skills through years spent at universities. In the Netherlands, I obtained a Bachelor Degree in English and in Canada I obtained a Bachelor and Master Degree in Anthropology. I worked in both the Netherlands and Canada in tourism, education and the creative industries (movie industry).

Subject Matter

I am a generalist and can translate, edit and write copy about many things. There are topics that I do not know enough about to provide the excellent work that you would expect. These include the very technical and legal topics. I can write in Canadian and UK English.

Previous Clients

I have had the privilege to translate over 125.000 words from Dutch to English for a client (all historical family documents going back 300 years). I have edited several books in English as well as Dutch. I also help people improve their written work such as academic journal articles and proposals. You have an idea, I have the skills to sell this idea by writing a fantastic proposal. I know how to write to an audience, and I know how to translate your document in a culturally appropriate way. Right now, I am focused on expanding into Dutch to English website copy writing.
