The best sites for giving yourself an injection are those areas with a layer of fat between the skin and muscle, like your thigh, the outer surface of your upper arm, or your stomach. Do not use the area near your navel or waistline. If you choose to give a new injection in the same general area as the previous one, it is important that it be done at least
1 inch (2.5 cm) from the last injection site.
6. Locate and cleanse the injection site with an alcohol swab. Gently pinch skin together at the center of the cleansed injection site.
7. Insert the needle, let go of skin. Pull the plunger back slightly. If blood comes into the syringe, do not inject at that site. If no blood comes into the syringe, push slowly on the plunger until all drug solution has been injected. Once done, withdraw needle from skin and hold a cotton ball at the site. Discard the syringe and needle in appropriate disposal container. Never re-use syringes or vials.

Se nella siringa non appare sangue, premere lentamente lo stantuffo finchè tutta la soluzione del farmaco sia stata iniettata. Al termine, estrarre l’ago dalla cute e tamponare la sede con un batuffolo di cotone. Smaltire la siringa e l’ago negli appositi contenitori. Non riutilizzare le siringhe o le fiale.
