Bio
My name is Michael. I hold a B.A. in Liberal Studies from U.C. Santa Barbara (1987) and a Master's Degree also from U.C. Santa Barbara in French Language and Culture (1991).
I am American-born, but speak fluently and I am told with little to no accent.
I have worked in various industries in which I have been able to utilize my language skills. These industries include "Import/Export"; Food/Wine; and hospitality.
Before solidifying my career as an educator, I had applied and was accepted to the Monterey School of Translation and Interpretation Master's program; however, I deferred enrollment and ultimately decided to pursue my main career in academics in the California Community College system.
I have been teaching French language and culture in the California Community College system since 1997. After three years as a part-time lecturer, I am now in my twenty-fourth year as a tenured French professor at my current college since fall 2000, teaching all levels of French.
In my younger years, I spent three months for Candia/Yoplait in Paris working as an "intern" as a French-English translator for "YoplaitScope", the company's professional revue about the dairy industry.
I also used to work in the customer service field and this made a lasting impression on me to ensure that clients are always 100% satisfied.
