Source text - Spanish Rosa Montero nació en Madrid en 1951.
Titulada en periodismo en la Escuela Superior de Periodismo de Madrid. (1970-1975)

Trabajó con grupos de teatro independiente como Canon o Tábano, con quienes estrenó en 1970 la mítica obra Castañuela 70.
Desde 1970 colaboró con diversos medios informativos (Fotogramas, Pueblo, Posible, Hermano Lobo) y desde 1977 trabaja para el diario El País, en el que fue redactora-jefa del suplemento dominical en 1980-1981.

A lo largo de su vida ha hecho más de 2000 entrevistas (al Ayatolá Jomeini, Yassir Arafat, Olof Palme, Indira Gandhi, Richard Nixon, Julio Cortázar o Malala, entre muchos otros) y su técnica como entrevistadora es estudiada en las universidades de periodismo tanto en España como en Latinoamérica.

El incremento de la inundación y la erosión por efecto del cambio climático, principalmente como consecuencia del aumento del nivel medio del mar (ANMM), se encuentra entre las mayores amenazas a las que se ven sometidos los sistemas costeros y zonas bajas de todo el mundo (Wong y otros, 2014). Esta subida del nivel del mar conllevará, además, una reducción significativa de la excepcionalidad de los eventos extremos, haciéndolos mucho más frecuentes de lo que son hoy día. Si bien algunos sistemas son capaces de retroceder tierra adentro para acomodarse a los cambios en el nivel del mar, otros experimentarán el clásico caso de estrés costero, que ocurre cuando una costa en erosión se acerca a estructuras rígidas e inmóviles, como malecones o acantilados, dando lugar a impactos adversos para el medio ambiente y la sociedad (Jackson y McIlvenny, 2011). En consecuencia, se espera que los daños se intensifiquen a lo largo del siglo, a medida que el ANMM, el desarrollo socioeconómico y la redefinición de la política territorial aumenten la población, los bienes y los flujos de actividad en la franja costera (Nicholls y otros, 2008).
Desde esta perspectiva, una amplia gama de marcos metodológicos está emergiendo para la evaluación socioeconómica de los riesgos y consecuencias de la inundación y de la erosión a diferentes escalas. The increase in flooding and erosion caused by climate change, principally as a result of mean sea level rise (MSLR), is among the greatest threats to the world’s coastal systems and low-lying areas (Wong et al., 2014). Furthermore, this rise in sea level will make extreme weather events much less of a rarity as they increase in frequency compared to today. Although some systems will be able to retreat inland in order to adapt to the changes in sea level, others will experience the classic case of “coastal squeeze,” which occurs when an eroding coastline approaches rigid and immobile structures, such as seawalls or cliffs, giving rise to adverse impacts on the environment and society (Jackson & McIlvenny, 2011). Consequently, it is expected that damage will escalate throughout the century, as SLR, socioeconomic development, and the redefinition of land policy increase population, property, and activity in coastal areas (Nicholls et al., 2008).
From this perspective, a wide range of methodological frameworks is emerging for the socioeconomic evaluation of risks and consequences of flooding and erosion at various scales. The classic methodology applied to the analysis of extreme weather risks has given rise to a generalized conceptual framework (IPCC, 2014), based on the combination of danger, exposure, and vulnerability.
Recently, initiatives have been developed that are important for the identification of threats leading to flooding and coastline retreat (Rueda et al., 2017).
