За разлика от установената в Англия практика, в повечето държави от континентална Европа кандидати за прокурорски длъжности се набират чрез публични национални конкурси, отворени единствено или предимно за млади, току-що завършили юристи. Във Франция, а също и в Италия, за разлика от други страни от континентална Западна Европа, прокурорите и съдиите принадлежат към една и съща професионална общност: те се набират заедно, имат еднакво професионално развитие и могат да се местят от прокурорска на съдийска длъжност и обратното дори по няколко пъти в течение на трудовия си стаж. Съдиите и прокурорите се определят общо като „магистрати" - термин, който, трябва да се отбележи, има различно значение в различните страни (например в Англия и в САЩ той се използва само за съдии със специални функции, в Испания - за съдии във висшите етажи на съдебната йерархия). Веднъж постъпили на длъжност, младите френски магистрати обикновено прекарват целия си професионален стаж в една система, израствайки в йерархията, която предвижда периодична оценка на тяхната работа. In contrast to the established practice in England, in the majority of states in Continental Europe candidates for prosecution posts are recruited in national public competitions that are open only or mainly to young lawyers who have just completed their studies. In contrast to other states in Continental Western Europe, in France as well as in Italy the prosecutors and judges belong to one and the same professional community: they are jointly recruited, have the same professional development and can transition from a prosecutor’s to a judge’s post and vice versa even several times during their length of service. Judges and prosecutors are generally defined as magistrates, a term which, it has to be noted, has a different meaning in the different states (in the U.S. and England, for example, it is used for judges with special functions only, in Spain, for high-ranking judges in the court hierarchy). Once they have assumed office, the young French magistrates usually spend their entire career in a single system, moving up the ladder, as their performance is subject to a periodical assessment.

Журналистката Елена Йончева представи в понеделник в Евро-българския културен център своята нова поредица от документални филми "Общи граници", представяща различни аспекти от живота в България и Англия.
В проекта, финансиран от Британското посолство, се разглеждат теми като футбол, здравеопазване, образование, полиция, наркотрафик, медии и опазване на държавните граници както у нас, така и на Острова.
"Филмите са информативни и забавни и представят както различията, така и общото в начина на живот на хората в България и Великобритания, тяхното всекидневие, мечтите и очакванията им за бъдещето", каза на представянето британският посланик Джеръми Хил. Според него проектът е в подкрепа на бъдещото ни членство в Европейския съюз.
Translation - English
The journalist Elena Yoncheva presented her new series of documentaries “Common Borders” on Monday in the Euro-Bulgarian Cultural Centre. The series examine different aspects of the way of life in Bulgaria and England.
Financed by the British Embassy, the project looks at themes such as soccer, healthcare, education, the police, drug traffic, media, and the defense of state borders at home as well as on the Albion.
The British Ambassador Jeremy Hill stated at the presentation: “The movies are informative, entertaining, and representative of the differences and commonalities in the lifestyle of the people in Bulgaria and Great Britain, their daily life, dreams, and expectations for the future.”
In his view, the project backs our future membership in the European Union.
