Bio

     Dear Potential Employers,

Hello! My name is Greg S. Vanisky. I'm a freelancer with 10+ years' experience in Chinese-English translation, ZH-EN bilingual editing, English proofreading, and language quality assurance
. I hold a Master of Arts degree in Chinese from Valparaiso University's Department of Foreign Languages & Literatures, as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcasting, Telecommunications, and Mass Media from Temple University.

In 2014, I was one of 80 specialists to restore the 1964 classic Chinese film "Two Stage Sisters," which opened the Shanghai International Film Festival. More recently, I assisted my client to win a prestigious Gracie Award as well as a Sigma Delta Chi Award for excellence in journalism. I also collaborated with San Francisco-based graphic novelist Andy Hartzell on projects for Cognotion, an ed-tech company, and am very passionate about the creation of interactive language learning solutions for both children and adults.

When I'm not completing an important assignment, I'm developing my personal website, ZhongwenMovies, researching the etymology of an ancient Chinese character, or possibly training in an obscure martial art. I love bird-watching and photography, and often spend time traveling throughout Asia, where I've attended school, worked, and lived off-and-on for more than 10 years over the past two decades.
