La especificidad por longitud de cadena fue evaluada mediante la determinación de la actividad de hidrólisis e triglicéridos con diferente tamaño de cadena (tributirina C4:0, trioctanoina C8:0 y aceite de oliva extra virgen con un contenido mayoritario de trioleína C18:1 y acidez menor al 2%).
La temperatura óptima fue evaluada mediante la hidrólisis a diferentes temperaturas entre 30 °C y 70 °C y un pH 8.5 en el caso de hidrólisis de triglicéridos de cadena corta y pH 9 en el caso de hidrólisis de triglicéridos de cadena larga.
La estabilidad térmica fue evaluada mediante la incubación de los tres biocatalizadores durante diversos tiempos (15, 30, 45 y 60 minutos) a una temperatura de 50 °C, posteriormente la actividad lipolítica en hidrólisis de tributirina y aceite de oliva fueron evaluadas bajo condiciones estándar las cuales fueron 35 °C y pH 8.5 en el caso de tributirina y 35 °C y pH 9 para aceite de oliva.
El pH óptimo fue determinado mediante la determinación de la actividad lipolítica en hidrólisis de tributirina y aceite de oliva bajo diferentes pH y una concentración de 50mM. Los tampones utilizados fueron: citrato de sodio (pH 5–6), Tris-HCl (pH 7–9), carbonato de sodio pH 10.

A physics graduate, with a passion for science & technology, travel, sports, and communication.
I have lived in Spain for over five years, working as an English teacher, freelance translator, and in-house translator at an international law firm. Besides English, my working languages are Spanish (DELE C2), and Catalan.
I hold the Chartered Institute of Linguists Diploma in Translation (Spanish to English). My chosen specialised texts in this professional examination were Science (distinction), and Technology.
My bread and butter is legal translation in the financial and tax sectors. This principally involves interpreting Spanish government decrees and orders, Tax Agency regulations, accounting standards, and other legislation for the benefit of foreign clients, based predominantly in the UK and the EU.
Although I most enjoy producing "pure" translations, I have experience working with Trados, MemoQ, Wordfast, and CafeTrans software. Through my academic and professional experience, I have become a proficient user of the whole Microsoft Office productivity package. I believe effective coordination and fluid communication are essential for a successful translation project, and these are the ideal tools. I am also more than happy to work with the Google Suite when requested.
