Source text - Spanish La tarde del 5 de agosto de 2010, 33 trabajadores mineros terminaban su turno en la mina de cobre San José, cuando no pudieron salir a la superficie debido a un gran derrumbe que cayó sobre unos túneles y galerías, dándose la alarma general. Al lugar rápidamente llegaron diversas autoridades como la Intendenta de Atacama, el Gobernador y el Alcalde de Copiapó de la época, junto con personas especializadas en emergencia como Bomberos, personal de Sernageomin, de la Seremía de salud, de la Oficina Nacional de Emergencia, efectivos de Carabineros y de la Policía de Investigaciones, más voluntarios de empresas mineras. Ellos trataron de ayudar con las labores preliminares para ingresar al interior mina y alcanzar el punto donde los afectados podían encontrarse, tareas que se prolongaron durante esa tarde y el día siguiente.
Translation - Italian Il pomeriggio del 5 agosto del 2010, trentatré minatori avevano terminato il turno nella miniera di rame di San Josè, quando non poterono tornare in superficie a causa di un enorme crollo che si verificò in alcuni tunnel e gallerie, provocando l’allarme generale. Sul posto giunsero immediatamente alcune autorità tra cui il presidente della regione di Atacama, il governatore e il sindaco in carica di Copiapó, insieme a personale specializzato nelle emergenze, come Vigili del fuoco, del Servizio nazionale geologico e minerario, della Segreteria regionale del ministero della sanità, dell’Ufficio nazionale di emergenza e della Polizia investigativa, oltre a volontari di aziende minerarie. Cercarono di aiutare nelle operazioni preliminari per entrare nella miniera e raggiungere il punto in cui si trovavano i feriti, compito che si prolungò per tutto quel pomeriggio e il giorno seguente.

Source text - English On Christmas Eve, December 24, 1968, the world’s media displayed a photograph, nicknamed “Earthrise,” which had just been taken from Apollo 8, the first satellite mission to orbit the Moon. The photograph, shown below, had a powerful impact on many who saw it. The very next day, Archibald MacLeish, an American poet, published an article called A Reflection: Riders on Earth Together, Brothers in Eternal Cold. He said “For the first time in all of time men have seen the Earth: seen it not as continents or oceans from the little distance of a hundred miles or two or three, but seen it from the depths of space...To see the Earth as it truly is, small and blue and beautiful in that eternal silence where it floats, is to see ourselves as riders on the Earth together, brothers on that bright loveliness in the eternal cold — brothers who know now they are truly brothers”. The nature photographer Galen Rowell called this photograph “the most influential environmental photograph ever taken.”

La fotografia, mostrata sotto, ebbe un impatto potente su tutti quelli che la videro. Il giorno dopo, il poeta americano Archibald MacLeish pubblicò un articolo intitolato A Reflection: Riders on Earth Together, Brothers in Eternal Cold (Una riflessione: passeggeri sulla Terra insieme, fratelli nel freddo eterno).
