Bio

I grew up being taught that key to achieving your goals is hard work and determination, and I carry this idea in my mind when it comes to both my personal and professional life.

I knew fairly early that I wanted to study languages, and that I wanted to study abroad to learn them in their respective cultures. For my undergraduate degree, I chose English and French, and lived respectively in Scotland and Belgium, meeting people, acquiring cultural knowledge, learning languages in context.

I continue to live in Scotland, and currently am in the last stages of completing my postgraduate studies in Translation. During my studies, I have had an opportunity to apply my knowledge of Lithuanian, English and French as well as try completing translations in various fields such as Engineering, Medicine, Literature, IT, etc. which allowed me to find my preferred areas of translation and to develop my skills further.

My heart truly belongs to literary and medical texts and their translation, as had I not chosen English Literature, I would have gone into medicine. I continue to learn and gain experience in these fields by working as a freelance interpreter with InTrans whose main clients are the NHS and city council, and completing voluntary translations with various agencies and organisations such as Translators without Boarders and Mokslo Namai (Lithuania).
